Wait, they had the screenwriting technology to resurrect Bond 2 years earlier than On Her Majesty's Secret Service:

Monster Of The Week 296 is PartyPlane, they are high as a kite and not coming down, we're not invited to this party, you know I spend weeks booking interviews and these monsters constantly flake off.

Monster Of The Week 295 is KingKevin, turns out even monarchs need a side hustle, some people say all kings are monsters, not Kevin though, he's a king amongst kings and a monster amongst monsters.

Good morning and welcome to Goblin Winter, a season you always suspected existed.

Monster Of The Week 294 is Eggbox, kind of sensitive, you need to walk on eggshells, can't take a yolk, sorry about that, it's the audience, they demand this kind of humour you know? Exactly.

This is the last picture, looking back to the bridge I crossed ten minutes before. What I haven't managed to capture is the difference between people using the bridges; the other everyone busy, moving. This one people talking, dawdling, looking. In any case, time to stop being a stranger. /12

I'm now on that bridge and make a brief appearance as I fumble with my phone. /11
October 24, 2025 at 11:48 AM
People are down at the shoreline, looking at what's washed ashore. A rather spindly looking bridge there, but there are lots of people on it. /10

I've made a left (I'm on a time limit here because this is part of the workshop!) and found my way back to the river. This path is called Globe View Walkway. As a stranger I try to decide which of these, if any, is the globe. Is the South Bank not for business? /9

Unreadable plaque, I had disabled the flash and didn't want to mess about with it and this was under an overpass. /8
October 24, 2025 at 11:48 AM
I continued across the bridge, to the street behind the buildings and turn left. It's darker here as the sun is going down and we're enclosed by high buildings on each side. Again there's old and new buildings, here a church and behind an office block /7
October 24, 2025 at 11:48 AM
Further across you can see more of this building. It looks like a meeting is going on, several of these look like they might be meeting rooms or offices. I tentatively conclude it is business that has the views over the river. /6
October 24, 2025 at 11:48 AM
I go out onto the bridge. On the other side there are all these buildings facing the river, big but not compared to the towers, seemingly forming a solid wall. Behind the round onion dome of a big church. /5

Look to the left and there's this futuristic, cyberpunk city, out of reach, under a gloomy noir-sky.
[This is Southwark Bridge and I honestly can't remember the last time I was here, if in fact I ever was. Possibly on a bus?] /4
October 24, 2025 at 11:48 AM
Obviously I went up and found this, a road, modern glass building on left, older brick building on the right. A bus stop, and the tops of some trees. Big modern spiky building and also a church tower in the background. /3
October 24, 2025 at 11:48 AM
[A time traveller would head for the river from where we were, find the Globe and the Tate Modern, which might be fun but not what I wanted.] I decided that I was a stranger who knew nothing of the city. So I walked out into the gloom and saw this. /2

12 months ago subscribers to my Patreon learned the story of the town curfew in postcard form. Now the gates to the paywall are open and it is revealed to all!

Monster Of The Week 293 is SteamboatWillcox, no relation, once, somewhere in the south seas (47°9'S, 126°43'W), accidentally ran down Cthulhu, out of copyright.

Wow who would do that, not now Charizard

Oh bluesky is making slightly more sense on languages now!

Monster Of The Week 292 is Twosday, the first day is all about settling in, then you can get down to business or pleasure, twenty four hours is plenty of time, you can get a lot done once you're set up.

You will not believe what Bluesky is asking me

Monster Of The Week 291 is SlightlyTooSmallBag, I thought I could get everything in, when it's empty it fits in a pocket, spends hours every week filling in online surveys and always has a strong opinion.

I just think battleships are neat!
