Here's all ten of the movies we reviewed on this ep, btw.

Speaking of Ben Whishaw, Claire made a VERY strong case to watch Peter Hujar's Day as soon as it comes out. Sounds amazing!!!

character actors in Death By Lightning, ranked in order of recognizability with 1880s facial hair:

1. Nick Offerman (looks normal)
2. Shea Whigham (distinctive eyebrows)
3. Matthew Macfadyen (mannerisms)
4. Bradley Whitford (always acts like Bradley Whitford)
5. Michael Shannon (did not recognize)

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

First go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

man it's just so damn cool when the puppet shows up. GREAT way to emphasize the inhumanity of a vampire villain.
Finally watched Le Vourdalak thanks to @gavia.bsky.social's overinvested podcast and holy shit.
I knew there would be a puppet, I wasn't ready for what a difference having a physical carriable interactable Thing be the vampire over CGI or even a guy in prosthetics has on the narrative a week later

I keep thinking about Zohran on some podcast being like “these billionaires are spending more money to defeat me than I would tax them” lmfao

watching this election from afar, it's been wild to see mamdani repeat the same three basic municipal policies 50,000 times, while his opponents react with virulent hysteria to completely imaginary bullshit.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue this week, alongside multiple other phenomenal team members.

At our Summit, I was asked how it felt to be 1 of 2 Black women left and what that meant for representation. Now, there are no Black women at Teen Vogue and that is incredibly painful to think about.

On Teen Vogue: It's an amazing publication full of talented journalists. It offers so much value. It's clear the monied interests in media aren't interested in preserving that value, especially if it threatens the status quo that undergirds their wealth. Capitalism and journalism are enemies.

Frustrating though entirely unsurprising that a young femme-focused magazine that has been doing banger work in reporting on crucial issues is being gutted by the politically grey Vogue.

We need this reporting now more than ever, and I've said this far too many times in the last two years.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

The systematic dismantling of journalism as a profession by corporate interests is one of the most important political trends in the past couple of decades.
