Sharing thoughts from 35000 JFK to LAX. I'm not in a plane, I'm just floating here. Send help. (he/him)
As someone who has had to make several friends a couple times as an adult, gotta say, clubs or similar weekly structured events are where it's at.

Here's a tip though: the first few times you go aren't about making friends, they're about becoming comfortable in that space and learning the vibe.
People on the internet get mad when they say they're lonely and the suggestions they get back are to join a club. But yeah, man. The cure for loneliness is to spend time with other people. That's gonna feel awkward at first but there's no other magic solution. Not sure what you're looking for, here.

Rewatching the bad bunny halftime show & I noticed this on his chest: the numbers “6” and “4”.

What he’s wearing is called a “football jersey”. It’s a subtle nod to the theme of the event—“football”.

Look ACAB but I'm starting to think Ryder needs to slap Alex and his grandpa with a citation for misuse of emergency services because what do you mean every emergency responder in Adventure Bay was tied up looking for a lost tooth.

Next time somebody tries to get me to justify the existence of the humanities, I’ll just point out how for the past two Super Bowls we’ve all jumped online and engaged in collective semiotics and hermeneutics of the half-time show as text.

The 2027 unsecured tertiary derivative market in jesus futures was crashed by AI deciding to immanentize the eschaton through pascal's wager.
Sure, but can you bet on whether 35%+ of people in that market will think the Jesus market will get over 5%?

I actually agree that there is going to be a skill gap between people who regularly use AI vs those who refuse to use it, and it's that after the bubble pops the refusers will be fine while the AI-dependent will be missing or have let atrophy basic skills

Hello, I'm the librarian in this extremely haunted small town. Thank you for your interest in our accurséd history! Here's a collection of local folktales; we don't allow it to be checked out because if you read it aloud, you will die. No, I'm sorry, the PTA made us get rid of all the gay books.

I feel like Los Angeles is a place where people expect ICE to happen because the kidnappings have been happening to my home city for decades, so there’s less media attention to it now. and I want folks to see that in LA, Latine students are organizing major protests & the police are attacking them
LAPD Charges at Hundreds of High School Students in Peaceful Walkout Protest at MDC ~ L.A. TACO
LAPD arrested at least two teenagers protesting ICE raids in Los Angeles yesterday. They were also seen corresponding with ICE agents on Alameda Street during the demonstrations.

Swear to god, ICE could just announce they're leaving a city but not leave and the media will just stop covering that city completely even though ICE never left.

It's what ICE and the media did with LA and they're doing it with Minneapolis too

Made it public and sharing here again, in case you want a little bit of expressed rage in your afternoon reading.
