ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

NEW — ICE violence has spread well beyond Minneapolis, with agents landing in small cities like St. Cloud. I spoke with Alice Valentine, a local queer trans woman, who protested ICE on Monday and was pepper sprayed, beaten and jailed as a result, along with her girlfriend.

This is Alice's story:

This is what everyone on the ground id trying to prevent, which is why they’re so active in the suburbs and exurbs, where because density is lower, rapid response networks are not as well established. People outside Minnesota need to realize that these kidnappings are happening across the state.

Sure. AI companies have ALWAYS been training their models on Wikipedia content, which under the free and open access model is available to anyone — including AI companies. Agreements like these require AI companies to limit and offset the strain they place on Wikimedia infrastructure.

I want to talk about a dystopian world we are entering - where every moment, event, and crisis just become commodities.

Life stops being something we live, but something we sell and trade. It will breed both corruption & emptiness.

For folks keeping score at home, in Trump's America you can have

two (2) dolls
five (5) pencils
one (1) "piece" of chicken
one (1) "piece" of broccoli
one (1) corn tortilla
one (1) other thing (?)

I mean, are we great again OR WHAT 🤡

I'm not much of a foodie, I hate cooking, don't have a big appetite and have always had to be frugal with the groceries, and even I am shuddering at "piece of broccoli", imagining one lone undressed floret.

I really wish people hadn't demonized calories because the one thing that calorie count is really, really good for is being able to say "Wow those are starvation rations."
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money."

Having seen several abductions up close, it is really hard to convey how much the thing they’re doing is roaming in military convoys until they see someone who is alone and isn’t white, and then jumping out in large numbers, pulling them into a van, and screeching off, all in 90 seconds or so.
"“They specifically asked me if I knew where the Hmong families lived on my street & in the neighborhood.” Lugert-Thom responded, “I don’t know anything about that” & she said they then asked, “Well, what about the Asian families?”"

"“I was a bit shaken & a bit shocked of what I was asked to do.”"
A St. Paul resident says federal officers knocked on her door and asked her to identify Hmong and Asian households in her North End neighborhood last week.
