You must treat the computer with respect, because the more humanity you see in anything, the more of humanity you will see in any person.
the best argument against all this ai shit is that a sizable chunk of the population clearly comes to believe Computer Has Feefees And/Or Is God and that is extremely bad
This is a colossal scandal. Like what the fuck is Raytheon doing?

This is Russian military levels of failure, and it should not be acceptable
Lol, that's a 33% failure rate if we go by the Reuters number of 12 launched

All credit to Zuck for destroying Elon twice ( w/ potential for a third time)

first when he posted “send location” when Elon tried to fight him

second when he stole all of Elon’s advertisers and users and got them on Threads

the third time will be when he sells a non csam producing ai bot
You are forgetting the worlds largest text microblogging website, Threads

This literally could be a Goebbels speech.
Stephen Miller, who wants the U.S. to steal Greenland and shake down Latin America, says: ”We live in a world … that is governed by force, that is governed by power. These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.”
That‘s a criminal pretending that a civilized world is impossible.

My spiciest math take is that "pen and paper" results are like dinosaurs during the K-T event:

Terrifying, awe-inspiring, and undergoing extinction...
bro I haven't pencil-and-papered an optimal control since I passed my quals - the age of the computer is upon us!

In your "results" section - you "find" a control law structure that is 100% knockout? Does that generalize to more complex gene systems or is that feature of your problem setup?

Click play to hear a horrible slop-country song:

but wtf is ESPN doing broadcasting a player saying the N-word during a promo? (at 0:22)

That's usually bleeped/muted
Here’s that FCS song ESPN is using.

The pathologies of the key players all laid bare in this rancid farce. Trump, the rapist, can't take hearing "no". Miller, the impotent rapist and would-be strangler, masks his impotence with frothing at the mouth tough guy posturing. Vance, the husk who sold his own soul, lying like it's breathing.
These fucking psychopaths are going to destroy NATO. I swear to fucking god.
TAPPER: Can you rule out the US is going to take Greenland by force?

MILLER: Greenland should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of NATO

T: So force is on the table?

M: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over future of Greenland

If you're an officer and you need a JAG opinion to determine whether being ordered to engage in armed force in Greenland is a blatantly illegal order, your oath became meaningless years ago.

Solar and wind is an expensive boondoggle, which is why we should spend billions rehabilitating infrastructure in a failed states with active left wing militias so we can get shitty oil refiners don't want

Broken record: The obsession with "kitchen table issues" imagines an electorate too obtuse or amoral to be reached by any appeal to abstract principle, morality, or any longer-term consideration than the immediate health of their bank account. If that's accurate, the game's already over.
Rep Adam Smith, highest ranking Dem on Armed Services Committee: The consultants keep telling me to talk about kitchen-table issues, but the rule of law is being utterly destroyed in America by Donald Trump.

This is so dumb that it might actually be true.
Trump loves the myth of the wild west and territorial expansion by past presidents. One central element to that myth is that the land being "tamed" was either empty or inhabited by indigenous people who could be moved out or murdered. At about 55,000 people (and 90% Inuit) Greenland fits that bill.
Can anyone explain Trump's infatuation with Greenland? I legitimately have no idea why he's so into this.

second degree murder, and specifically depraved heart murder, wherein the accused doesn't actively plan to kill a specific person or people but acts with callous disregard for human life - like firing a gun into a crowd or driving drunk - should apply to decisions made by CEOs and heads of industry
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

The shittiest part about losing in a variety of seemingly unconnected ways is figuring out what to fix. But ultimately, it does fall at the feet of the head coach.
this is the 4 straight year of the ravens losing in the most heartbreaking fashion possible

- 2023 zay flowers goal line fumble

Discourse is very annoying right now because American oil companies don't actually want to deal with Venezuela, but the entire endeavor was obviously pitched to Trump as a colonial resource extraction play, so it IS a war for oil even if that doesn't make sense! Cults of personality aren't rational.

It is unbelievably depressing that this shit is out of the box and probably never going back in. Even if the big models are heavily regulated in the future, there is always gonna be a way to make AI porn of people pretty easily. Boorish teenage boys are gonna be doing this for the rest of history.
Grok is now also editing clear pornographic content onto uploaded images of people who are very likely underaged. This is absolutely beyond fucked up.

It's why I'm firmly opposed to the idea of modern armies necessarily reflecting the societies that produce them. Modern armies, if staffed by professional soldiers, reflect the army that produces those professional soldiers. And those professionals increasingly come from military families.

The internet is now more important than real life
A lot of people have screamed "twitter isn't real life" at us for over a decade but the admin is currently being run by content creators seeking the approval of twitter users to the extent that their "situation room" had twitter feeds up on the projectors
