You must treat the computer with respect, because the more humanity you see in anything, the more of humanity you will see in any person.
the best argument against all this ai shit is that a sizable chunk of the population clearly comes to believe Computer Has Feefees And/Or Is God and that is extremely bad

Have any convictions been overturned due to the usage of LLMs to write the police report?

its building out the sensors - human sense of touch has incredible sensitivity and low latency.
i honestly think moravec's paradox has broken. like the boundary between easy and hard is this fucked up fractal thing and we're sort of just sitting on it. we can do some things and not others and no simple heuristic tells you which ones
it would be cool to have humanoid robotics. we are still trying to deal with moravec's paradox in robotics

Why bother with the pretense? I think he'll go full MMT
i'd give 3:1 odds on the trump administration just straight-up using tariff revenues as a slush fund to pay for things outside the appropriations process

Given whose asking, the correct answer is "to maintain the brand value of CBS, so that we can sell more viewers to advertisers".
Could a quote possibly be more on the nose for Bari, the Ellisons, the Trump movement, or this whole era in American life than "what's the point of standards"? www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

Do you plan to support a challenger to Schumer, and primary challenges to all the yea voters, or is this just talk?
It is a massive mistake to strip tens of millions of people of their health insurance. It’s an outright betrayal of what families need.

Tim Kaine needs to go.

Even if you think he swapped votes for someone else - we still need to punish him for defecting.

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.

I look forward to Senator AOC.
America is in the midst of a Republican-made health care crisis—a crisis so severe, so urgent, and so devastating for American families that I cannot support a continuing resolution that fails to address it.

I am voting NO.

Theory of victory is making republicans voting against healthcare but also making it clear that to voters that they can't govern and are pedos.

I would do basically the current deal, next week but add an Epstein files rider. Make it so the Republicans are damned if they do, damned if they dont.
any bsky poaster have a theory of victory aligned with keeping the govt shutdown indefinitely I'm all ears, because again I think I've got a history that's pretty indicative I'm more than supportive of COAs that fuck me over personally if there's a viable path to an achievable end state
Okay so again, you gonna forgo your income for another 13 months?

Because you're asking me and a couple million of your fellow citizens to do that, and I don't think it's too much to ask for a plausible theory of victory aligned with that COA

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

my theory is that almost everyone in the administration assumes there's something damning to Trump in the unreleased Epstein files and is acting accordingly. like he's pardoning a bunch of indefensible randos and I doubt they're all paying him; Trump doesn't know he's being used as a sin eater.
