Had to get past CAPTCHA to read that Guardian article.
I hate the spread of AI and its eating of resources, and that it’s putting art creators out of pocket and out of work.
But now I’m torn.
I discovered today a new AI trend where classic pop songs are being reimagined as lounge, Motown or blues. And it’s objectively good (I really tried to hate it)!

Farage says he's "boycotting the BBC" all the time.

Here he is last year.

Normally lasts until the next invitation comes.

UPDATE with official comment from the BBC

Exceptional. Not just a scoop or an exclusive, more like a full inquiry.

There is no news source on the planet right now which has published (or broadcast) more detail on what has really been going on at the BBC internally, and the external forces at play.
🚨UPDATE WITH COMMENT FROM THE BBC: Byline Times can confirm that of the four-person BBC panel that interviewed Prescott and made the decision to appoint him as an advisor, three of them had longstanding Conservative Party ties. bylinetimes.com/2025/11/11/b...

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Dreamt of a Sitcom Traitors last night. It felt like a forgotten Mike Yarwood extended sketch, but the prospects were tantalising. Then sadly thought it would have to be filled with US stars as the UK doesn’t really make sitcoms anymore.

When I was on @looksunfamiliar.bsky.social I chose this sequence from a 1979 Sesame Street episode - probably the first time I ever heard Philip Glass was this exclusive piece he wrote for this animated sequence, Geometry of Circles. It's never appeared anywhere else.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Well, that was the week that marks the end of public service broadcasting in the UK. ITV being swallowed by Comcast, the BBC’s craven capitulation reaching its natural conclusion. RIP good PSB.

Was just thinking about Monty Python, end of Season 3, that opens with the Thames ident and David Hamilton. That must have been so confusing at the time, and lots of potential channel changing going on.
Has also reminded me of END OF PART 1 doing something similar:

Ah, 9 November – a sad one, this: 59th anniversary of the day Paul McCartney died, forcing the other Beatles to replace him with an orphan they had trained to impersonate him, and then (obviously) put clues in songs and on album covers so people could find out anyway

The Bishop’s Wife currently on BBC2. It isn’t a Christmas movie, but feels like the sort of movie that should be shown during the Christmas holiday season.
(It’s too early for the decs just yet).
