Hey remember the shooting in Minneapolis that happened between Renee Good and Alexi Pretti, the guy they claimed was shot by an agent after he had attacked that agent with a shovel? I know it's hard to believe but the agents' story fell apart and charges were dropped. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/12/u...

Made some improvements this week to my map of United States real property (federal land, buildings and other fixed structures)
- new agencies and better geocoding, including USPS, TVA and State
- filter by property type (e.g. "parking structure") and year built
- where available, actual land areas

it's not that I'm twelve, it's just that this is honestly very distracting on a page full of otherwise chaste search results, because now I can't think about anything except the particular relevance to the lives of bird science people of the Scunthorpe problem

honestly tired of trying to convince people that trump's immigration policy is not really about violent undocumented immigrants or even just undocumented immigrants, but immigrants in general and even non-white people more broadly.
cool, cool. so we are sort of like citizens, but not really?

Still around 100 community reports of ICE activity around the Twin Cities today, the most of any state by far.

In case you’re wondering why so many of us aren’t quite taking Homan’s presser today at face value.

A bill that would create a 25-foot buffer zone around police and first responders. Bill sponsor tells me that if officers feel they are being harassed, the person has to move back after a warning or face criminal charges. Latest from me @kentuckypublicradio.org #kyga26

Someone was abducted at 10 AM by ICE on Central Ave. Their coworker says they’ve lived here for over 20 years, are documented, and have 3 kids who were born here.

Don’t be fooled by headlines when they’ve been lying to us the whole time. We still need you out patrolling until every agent is gone.

THEY ARE BUYING UP WAREHOUSES TO HOLD HUMAN BEINGS IN DETENTION INDEFINITELY.

I feel crazy at how everyone is acting like this is normal. These are concentration camps being built right before our eyes. These buildings are not meant to house human beings. People will be caged like cattle and die.

That settled, let me get out in front of the issue right now: I'm unapologetically pro-troutslap

When we get out the other side of this, we should think seriously about making signs like this permanent, like the plaques in Paris that tell you that you're standing on the exact spot where a resistance fighter was shot down by the Nazis in 1944.

A reminder that Project 2025’s stated plan is the declare ANYTHING having to do with LGBTQ+ people, including LGBTQ+ people themselves, to be INHERENTLY “pornographic”—and then criminalize all porn.

Those massive concentration camps they’re building aren’t gonna fill themselves.
When a sitting representative refers to the Super Bowl halftime show as “pornography,” people should use that to reflect on how they and other representatives are simultaneously working to ban, censor, and restrict “pornography” and what that actually means

This post is uninformed at best. There’s no way to tell just by looking if a dick is expired. Even several days past the “Best If Used By” date a dick is usually perfectly fine. This is not just pedantry; it has real consequences. The United States is one of the world’s most egregious dick wasters.
At Whipple where expired dicks are being thrown at ICE vehicles and those believed to be agitators. The area has been a place of protest since thousands of federal agents arrived in the city.

A lot of the suburbs around Minneapolis & St. Paul are getting hit hard, including people just walking and getting snatched off the street.
They also are continuing to be extra aggressive towards observers.

Like Carrie said: NOTHING HAS CHANGED.
I'm a Columbia Heights resident. ICE is still here, terrorizing, breaking laws, harassing people, causing chaos. Tell your family and friends. No matter what this administration's minions report: Nothing Has Changed.
