Only two nations in the world use cash bail: the Philippines and the United States.

DC eliminated cash bail more than 30 years ago because it's wrong to have one system of justice if you're rich and another if you're poor.

House Dems, DC is watching your votes on H.R. 5214.

To my trans and nonbinary friends, I am so sorry that you have to deal with this hate. And I hope to see us reach the other side of it soon. And, we will reach the other side. This is horrifying, but it is ultimately the latest iteration of a time-worn tale. And their time always comes to an end.

Friends, @seokjinzero.bsky.social does so much for us, can we help her out during a tricky time?
Friends, I’ll be a bit slow with updates on the dailies. My grandpa and my mom are both in the hospital, so I’ll be mostly offline.

It’s been a little heavy lately, and things do pile up. I don’t usually ask, but if you found my updates helpful, there’s a tip jar on @dailybts.bsky.social’s bio. 💜

Pet food is usually not covered by SNAP (depending on where you are), but needing to cover more groceries may take up what you would have spent on it. Many animal shelters have pet food pantries, so check your local if you're struggling to feed your pets.

With millions at risk of losing SNAP in the coming days, a reminder: hunger doesn't happen in isolation. When food assistance disappears, families use rent money to eat. Then come evictions and homelessness.

Housing, food, healthcare—it's all connected. Cut one thread and the whole thing unravels.

Ahead of tomorrow’s “No Kings” protest in D.C., @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social has issued a guide on demonstrators’ rights. Generally MPD does what it can to avoid conflicts or arrests, but there are plenty of federal police agencies in the city with differing experience/tolerance.

I have questions- several - but firstly, can someone explain to me the use of the word “early” in the sentence below?

Also, to keep the list up to date - it’s no Tylenol while pregnant AND no Tylenol to children or no Tylenol only to children who were circumcised “early”? Bit confused 🤔 by science
Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

NEW: 51 Senators urge RFK Jr. and Marty Makary to end telemedicine prescriptions of the abortion drug mifepristone— and to suspend its distribution as an "imminent hazard" under Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Collins and Murkowski only GOP members not to sign

The DOJ is trying to implement a new rule forcing victims of sexual assault and domestic violence to immediately prove their immigration status before receiving aid.

Victims of these horrific crimes deserve compassion and help, not politically motivated roadblocks. Dem AGs will see you in court. ⚖️

Political violence disproportionately hurts people with less power, not people with more power. Political violence will disproportionately hurt people of color and women and LGBTQ people. It’s not fair, but that’s the way it works. Celebrating political violence means at best indifference to that.
Political violence is bad. It usually begets more political violence.

Celebrating political violence is bad. It usually encourages more political violence, against various targets.

Campus shootings are bad. They make everyone on campus less safe.

It's bad that what I wrote here is controversial.
