I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: if you are or have ever been concerned about “illegal immigration” in the US you are as stupid as you are evil.
Something I like seeing popping up more on TikTok and elsewhere are younger people saying “I actually don’t give a fuck if someone is here illegally.” Those of us of a certain age (and older) have been kind of tricked into having this abstract debate for decades. What matters are actions.

DACA was great but it was a pivot from when Obama was emphasizing deportations and border security to get Republicans to bargain on immigration reform, which they never did because they want the issue not a solution to the issue

It might be true that many Americans dislike the concept of “open borders” but it is incontrovertible that no nation deserves border controls less than the united states; both as fulfillment of our national self-conception and as restitution for the evil wrought by our immigration system since 1952.
I think both calling for abolishing ICE is fine and casting what ICE is doing as inherent to immigration enforcement is an extremely bad idea because if you frame the choice as "open borders or this" lots of people will choose this. It also just isn't true, Canada has borders and IRCC don't do this

I think you’re fundamentally doomed releasing a AAA multiplayer experience. I can’t think of a single popular multiplayer game that wasn’t originally a mod (DotA, Counter-Strike), a kei-scale indie (Lethal Company, PEAK), or coattail-chasing from the majors (MS’s Minecraft acq, Apex/Fortnite: BR)

I keep thinking “my god the people they’ve killed seem like exceptionally good folks” and I think the lesson there is that they’re not exceptional, but that wonderful people abound and that a baseline distrust in humanity is a shitty conservative trope that privileges power over collective strength

Immigration is a fake problem. We have politicians on the one hand who want to use immigrants as scapegoats for our real ones and politicians on the other who are too cowardly to stand against them and tell the truth. That is the entire situation. Until that changes, people will continue to die.
