I am. But there are three things at play here regarding ICE collecting private data. Quick rundown on the issue, why you should be paying attention, and what I'm doing about it:
So which politician is calling for the dismantling of the probably illegal database that ice & this government is collecting biometric data of protesters?

Don't let up. Please contact Reps, Senators and leaders in Congress. My Rep went from no position, this morning, to issuing a statement strongly against funding DHS and supporting impeachment of Noem. I sent him a note of thanks for taking a strong position.
can't help but worry that the fury of Washington lawmakers will fade with Bovino getting sent to the back office at the Christmas Adventurers Club, but as of this evening there was no movement

No off-ramp in sight for DHS-fueled shutdown
Republicans are dangling options that would avoid having to change a massive spending bill. Democrats aren’t biting.

Every serious DC political journalist should be constantly asking the 23 Republicans in Congress, along with the Speaker of the House & the Senate Majority Leader, when they are going to stop violating their oaths & end the lawless authoritarianism.

Focus. Please.

The people who have power to end this are Republicans in Congress.
Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

in trying to understand what makes ICE and CBP so dangerous right now, it is tempting to imagine some new lack of training or experience or professionalism—and not grapple with the truth that a white nationalist movement has put more power and force behind their existing mission

Everyone who seriously, genuinely considers themselves left of center in any capacity should be actively asking themselves and their immediate colleagues and comrades: "what would a constitutional and political state of affairs look like where these events are made functionally impossible"?
The largest socialist organization in the US (which, notably, does have a council-level presence in the Twin Cities) really ought to return to the kinds of discussions it was earnestly having during Trump's 1st term: constitutional overhaul. How can we be the parliamentary agitators for new law?

Look, I’m not the world’s best pollster, but if you can’t stand up against kidnapping children to use as bait, you don’t belong in professional politics.

If you don’t understand the rage, if you tell people to do anything other than protect their children, you don’t deserve public office.

This is not a rational person. And this is deeply disturbing coming from an American President. NATO is not our enemy—they are unequivocally our closest friends and allies.

At this point, how can you not call into question the mental fitness of this President?

"There's a hierarchy here: the anti-riot command in the national police, the Basij, the IRGC. One of the interesting things about this series of protests, an indicator of how strained the security forces were, was the *need* to use the IRGC." -- @restisclassified.bsky.social on Iran

Trump’s post is truly deranged and, in a rational environment, would be enough on its own to prompt consideration of invocation of the 25th Amendment and/or initiation of the impeachment and removal process.

I cut the post into two sections and removed night mode so it can be read more clearly:

1/ Something which I don't think gets articulated clearly often enough is that a system where countries generally respect international sovereignty and territorial integrity is not pure charity or morality by the United States, but in its direct interests.

Despite it being the strongest bear.
