Waiter: Your soup, sir.

{15 seconds later....}

Diner: Waiter!! THERE'S A FLY IN MY SOUP!

Waiter (hurrying over): Kindly keep your voice down, sir! If you keep shouting, everyone will want one!

Hey, I DM'ed you the data, which is also on my TL. Don't be quick to push his story. The data indicates not that independents and GOP stayed home. It indicates that both groups voted for the Dem. The GOP must push a false story to cover it up. Remember my old joke?... ➡️➡️

Trump, in an Escalation, Calls for Republicans to ‘Nationalize’ Elections www.nytimes.com/2026/02/02/u...

Once again the fixation is on Trump alone. This is not Trump's doing. This is the grand plan of the Republican party. Aided by a subservient press, including the NYTimes. What will Dems do?

Hmm. His (formerly) respected firm settled fast with Trxmp. I wonder if this asshat's contact with Epstein had anything to do with it?... Nah, can't be. If it were, gosh, every lawyer still at #PaulWeiss would feel even more chumped than they did in March with the free $40M of legal work for the WH.

Generally yes, except the assumption about the victim. They demand justice, they've been traumatized for life already, and their views and values are often assumed to be X, Y or Z (usually by men). Point is, while you're well intended, she decides about trauma / privacy impacts.

If you have any MAGA in your life who approve of Trump’s immoral & barbaric war against immigrants, share a copy of this essay by Ammon Bundy, a famous anti-government right wing activist. I was impressed & surprised by his thoughtful arguments. www.peoplesrights.ws/asset/news/a...

Keep speaking from experience, @oliviaoftroye.com. Non-MAGA Republicans need to hear you. Thank you for doing this.
“I am not convinced that the entire Department [of Homeland Security] survives.”

Former national security adviser to VP Pence @oliviaoftroye.com explains why it’s time for a ‘complete review’ of the Department of Homeland Security.

Sent an email to my Rep this morning and encourage all to follow suit--Republicans and Democrats. The GOP is concerned about this moment after the upset by a Dem in Texas. Same with the lame-ass corporate DNC Democrats--they will want to look like they're on the winning side. #impeachTrump

Lawler. The GOP toady in NY-17. In the replies a video shows another vet, standing behind this veteran. The public announcer asks for videos to stop--"some in the audience are not comfortable being on video". No, Lawler knows this looks bad.
BREAKING:

GOP Rep. Mike Lawler held a town hall tonight in Rockland County…and proceeded to have VETERANS thrown out of the venue.

Amy @amyklobuchar.com, do you see how ridiculous your consultant speak is in this moment?

The guy kicking this ICE agents hat & the people whistling to shame these monsters—that’s what we need more of.

That’s Governor material.

Do better. It’s not too late. Fire your consultants & start over.

ICE agents tried to quietly get Mexican food in Minneapolis, local neighbors and protesters found out and shamed then out of the neighborhood!

It's sooooo Mary Tyler Moore, a time-honored Minneapolis tradition!

I really like this one!

Oh for the love of a complete sentence, Trxmp didn't write this. "Subject to Board approval"? LOL. That's something I would have written in a client memo.
February 2, 2026 at 6:13 AM
The handwritten note from Rep. @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social is terrific. Why on earth did ICE take him? Gratuitous cruelty, which has backfired. NOTE: don't let them bury it in a happy ending tale. There are more Liams who need help. Keep filming, again and again. Every video is a step forward.
Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

Here ⤵️⤵️ is the point, for those still shouting it's a waste. First, just force the GOP to vote. Make its no vote, aka Trxmp endorsement, CRYSTAL clear. Hell, if they're so powerless, what else is there? Fundraise? Issue statements? No. Create tactical advantage, as they did with the Epstein files.
That is why strategically selective impeachment matters, even when you "fail" to win conviction and removal. In fact, failing to get conviction and removal may be the whole point, if you want to portray your opposition as unwilling or unable to address real wrongs.

I will say again, for the people in the back: the art of politics in a democracy is not merely counting votes. It is reframing issues in a way that CHANGES votes. It is making the case for what is impossible today, so it becomes more possible tomorrow.
February 2, 2026 at 5:29 AM
One thing to consider is whether the Dems get to replace Alito and/or Thomas on SCOTUS, weakening the supremacist majority, by the time litigation gets to that level. That may have bearing on the outcome. OTOH those cretins might retire before 2028 to preserve the GOP stranglehold.

These days must be awful for you as so many underpinnings of society are way off. One of my favorite jokes is Don't worry about hell! By the time it's your turn, hell will be full so they'll have to send you upstairs. 😁
February 1, 2026 at 8:04 PM
That makes loads of sense from what I've read about a couple of "faiths" which are incredibly hierarchical and seem to have 1 or more men who get reveals direct from god. Sorry for your experience and those in thrall to this stuff. Your POV is very helpful to me (non-religious upbringing).

Reason to keep working. Authoritarian, ironically, need the public to buy into their system or feel alone and afraid.
POWERFUL: With snow falling in freezing weather in Chicago last night, the massive anti-ICE/Border Patrol rally wrapped up in front of City Hall as the energized crowd chanted, "I believe that we will win!"
January 31, 2026 at 11:49 PM
They won't do a thing unless they think their seat is at risk. Very much like the Dems except they are the majority and they still refuse to buck the party leaders.
January 31, 2026 at 11:47 PM
Meanwhile, these anti-democratic assholes.

Sulzberger in the damn files, apparently more important / embarrassing than "All the News That's Fit to Print". Own your shame. Bear the responsibility you brought upon yourself and the company that gave you access to Epstein in the first place.
No mention of Epstein on Page One.
