Ex-Wall St. lawyer/exec. Focused on news media, public transit, NYC and RCP (Random Coffee Posts). The GOP and their billionaire$ don't want you to laugh at them. No laughing. None. Also, hold your elected officials accountable.
Aside from the fact that Barro is on @nytimes.com opinion pages with these attitudes, the education system discussion is timely as schools are forced to choose what and whom they must support.
A lot of education discourse is at root an inability to decide whether the purpose of our education system is to 1) teach material and measure learning 2) reward students who work hard 3) separate the smart kids (destined for smart guy jobs) from the dumb kids (destined to serve the smart guys)

Riding the circuit. No clerks. No building. No shadow docket. Nothing, until the Wizards In Robes stop ignoring the law, data, history, precedent, & the plain meaning of words in the Constitution. And there will be 25, with 9 chosen by lottery for any case.
What I first said in sarcasm I increasingly think is a real thing to consider:

Move SCOTUS to a strip mall in rural Kansas.

We can’t fire them. Impeachment* is functionally dead. The 18-yr term thing is a fantasy.

But we can kill a lot of their perks.

Bet Kav would retire fast.
Devastating piece on the human toll of Kavanaugh Stops.

Especially infuriating to know that rich white guys like Brett K can simply close their eyes to the human suffering their racist jurisprudence has unleashed.

Trump's name appears in Epstein's estate's newly released files 1628 times! Imagine how many more times Trump's name appears in the full FBI Epstein dossier, not to mention how many hundreds of Trump's rape videos they have. And the FBI has been covering this up since long before Bug Eyes took over.

The Left's secret weapon, as a movement, is that we don't give a crap if MAGA indicts Bill Clinton or Larry Summers or anyone else. Fuck 'em. We're here out of principle, not hero worship. Something MAGA will never understand.

Actually have been expecting Sulzberger in the #EpsteinFiles. It would explain quite a bit about the degradation of the news department not to mention the pivot to non-news businesses. Joe Kahn might turn up as well. Honestly I would be kind of surprised if Brooks, Douthat or Stephens turn up.
You see "Schumer" and "Sulzberger" in there? We all know who Schumer is and Sulzberger is the owner and chairman of the New York Times.

Anything make a bit more sense now?

It's ONLY been 65 years since six year old Ruby Bridges walked through the halls of William Frantz Elementary as the first Black child to attend an all white school. Met with mobs and hate, her bravery and courage helped change the course of history for this nation.

Yet another reason corporate Dems are suspect. Keep an eye out for how fast they kick him out.... or don't kick him out.

NEW: Before the recent Epstein disclosures, Larry Summers was poised to lead the economic policy plank for the Democrats' "Project 2029" effort at the Center for American Progress. He signed off on a housing policy paper CAP was prepping for next week.

The only reasonable conclusion to draw from this is that Epstein had Trump sex crimes on video.

We can theorize all day. We can bicker about [air quotes] DSA, the Left, Blue MAGA, centrism, the DNC or whatever. Fact is, GOP extremists, with corporations funding for reasons of greed, co-opted info delivery local and large. It'll take 10+ yrs of hard work, if possible to build against that.

They also show something else VERY significant: Epstein was not in the least afraid of Trxmp. He held the cards, and they both knew it.

Can't be proven or debunked. But this sure makes sense when reflecting on article placement as well as the photos selected.
I have come to believe it’s just run of the mill misogyny. Say what you will about policies or even debate whether they’re good people, but Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris have been pilloried on the front page of the NYT more than Orange Rapist because they are women. Full stop.

NPR confirms that Trump’s name appears over 1,000 times in the Epstein emails.

Remember, these are the emails they allowed to be released.

They’re still hiding most of the documents.

Best thread I've seen about Schumer's role/non-role. Others make a similar end point, but in a combative annoying way. At the end of the day, you realize not only that Chuck is one senator, but that the other Dems can take far more initiative such as objecting to unan consent. And they don't.
I don't like to talk about my specific experience much in the Senate because I always prefer to have discussions on arguments alone.

However that being said, let me tell you where I'm coming from with this "all of these people are knuckleheads and Schumer isn't the real problem" thing.
