Anyway if you know me irl I just want to update you that I just heard a new single for Sex Worker Pride Day at the punk show I’m at, and this show is weird for me because I don’t think I’ve been in a majority-cis audience for like four or five shows. Which is probably not the Arbo you remember.

I know we're all focusing on the chat gpt thing but this is an absolutely insane way for the observer and also glinner to refer to an ecofacsist who believes that trans people were invented by jews to eliminate humanity and that mass bombing campaigns should happen for the enviroment.

Yeah this is why “those horrible SEC fanbases” fell completely flat for me when it came from the student section that can’t get enough of “Uncle Phil”
Phil Knight is almost single handedly funding the OR GOP, one of the more extreme state GOPs in the country. Keep that in mind next time you’re in the market for sportswear or sneakers. www.oregonlive.com/politics/202...
Nike co-founder Phil Knight makes record-setting donation to help elect Republicans
It is the single largest donation Knight has made to an Oregon candidate or political action committee.

I've always been convinced that video podcasts exist to force creators to be reliant on a closed distribution platform. Podcasts are built on tech (RSS) that nobody can own. Every major tech company has wanted to migrate podcasts to something proprietary, but it never sticks. Video is their answer.
*banging a metal pot with a wooden spoon very loudly*

people want to LISTEN to podcasts!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not going to engage with the latest version of Trump's Ukraine-Russia peace plan, mainly because of what happened to the previous version of it as well as the one before that.

Thank you for your inattention to this matter.

This is something @hypervisible.blacksky.app has said several times: these nefarious an abusive uses of generative AI are not aberrations. They are the purpose of these systems — any other use cases are tangential.
This is a nuts story. An AI chatbot and image platform left millions of images exposed. They show what people are actually using the AI for: taking random women's yearbook, graduation, and social media photos and making super realistic hardcore porn with them

So little patience for the people perfectly content riding the tiger of white resentment and nativism while it was helping them push through tax cuts, who now stare at it running loose and feral in the streets and are like, "the left should reflect on how it let things get this far."

BREAKING: We won!

Today the 3rd Circuit Court ordered the @post-gazette.com to restore our contract it illegally tore up 5 years ago. That’s our health care, PTO, right to a 40-hr. work week, short-term disability and so much more we’ve struck for 3+ years.

I know this sounds mean but if you think that this is a coincidence you're more than a bit of a mark. If Kaine had been up next year, it would have been Warner, if Slotkin was retiring, Peters, etc.
The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.
November 10, 2025 at 3:05 AM
My roommate has made the point that our state's contribution to this mess (Fetterman) isn't so much "caving" as "has said since the shutdown started that we should just give the Republicans everything they want"

I’m to exhausted from all of this to make the graphic, so someone go ahead and make a 28-3 graphic with the dems as the Atlanta Falcons
Major concession from Democrats here is enhanced ACA funds aren’t extended. Preserving them was Dems’ central demand in this fight. They secured a promise of a vote (which Thune has been offering for weeks), but that could still fail. Even if it passes, Johnson has made no promise of a House vote.
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:

—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)
—Led by King/Shaheen/Hassan

and this absolutely includes all of these damn Charlie Brown posts showing up in my timeline where the Democrats are your friend but just your incredibly naive friend.
Chuck Schumer and the Democratic establishment, fascist collaborators. 👍

Republicans are actual evil, but this will never improve until people stop acting surprised every time they do this and start recognizing that Democrats aren't your friends.
I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
November 10, 2025 at 1:43 AM
Like, seriously. If you're all "let's primary this asshole" you need to make sure that one of the conditions is "do you understand that millions of people's access to food and healthcare is more important than how long the line is at the airport before you, personally, fly home for Thanksgiving"
November 10, 2025 at 1:35 AM
Democrats don't think the promise they're getting is worth the cave.

Democratic Senators think (a) the open airports are worth the cave for entirely personal reasons, and (b) that you'll buy the lie that they did it "in order to obtain the promise of a vote." Don't make them right on (b).

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.
November 10, 2025 at 1:17 AM
okay i know you aren't my Senator anymore since I moved but like

"Donald Trump and Republicans" would not be a problem with the current Senate makeup.

"Donald Trump and Republicans and also 10 Democratic Senators (including my new one who's turned off his voicemail)" is when it becomes a problem.
My red line has always been lowering health costs for Americans. Donald Trump and Republicans don’t want an agreement that meets that bar. I’m a no.
