I'm in the middle of reading this, but I had to stop and post this pull quote: "People are not rebelling against economic elites, but rather against cognitive elites. Narrowly construed, it is a rebellion against executive function. " This is precisely why they always sound like 12-year-olds.
Human cognition largely takes places in two modes, a somatic/intuitive reasoning which grounds all meaning & sensation and an abstract reasoning which is symbolic & recursive.

RW authoritarianism is hacking of somatic reasoning.
