Is this something states & cities should build out?

In Switzerland, public schools often have underground spaces that serve as emergency nuclear fallout shelters. They were built during the cold war and are still maintained today. Some are used as temporary shelters for people seeking asylum.

A deal was within reach Sunday night to end the longest federal government shutdown in history, when it appeared enough U.S. Senate Democrats had agreed to join Republicans: it doesn't address skyrocketing premiums for those enrolled in health insurance plans in the Affordable Care Act Marketplace.

What if all the people who donate to political parties and candidates at elections would instead donate the same amount to food banks and food programs?

Can anyone tell me how much money would go toward feeding hungry Americans versus politicians who cannot do their job to keep government open?

22 Republicans in Congress signed a letter to HUD to extend current homelessness funding for one year. But the threat is still looming.
We cannot ease up on governments to use their funds effectively. The US has reduced homelessness from 2010-2017 by investing in permanent supportive housing.

Working Americans don’t know how to feed their children AND themselves.
Let that sink in!

They work! They still cannot afford food without SNAP.
And I’m not even talking about retired seniors or those with disabilities and disabling conditions.

It’s about priorities!

What or who do you think are the top 3 priorities of government?
Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.
