this dweeb doesn't even seem to be a US citizen. He's a student from the UK. hard to prove from the evidence online that he's not naturalized. (even then the below would be pretty rich). But he seems to be some posh brit here on a student visa.
According to the car wash owner, agents arrested employees before they could obtain their documentation from their work lockers. So many were likely here legally.

Here's hoping this article on Zac boasting about how he ruined some immigrants' lives follows him around for a very long time.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

CALL ALL OF THEM. SAY PRIMARY.

If you're looking for something to dislodge that Gordon Lightfoot earworm, tomorrow is ALSO the 50th anniversary of Patti Smith's debut album. Like Bruce Springsteen says, starts with "probably the greatest opening line of anyone’s debut album in rock ’n’ roll."

This is a fun piece:

Pretty much. Suckers.

Doing this even after this past Election Day and how the public thinks the shutdown is Republican’s fault (because it is).

Political malpractice.
If Democrats get no concessions, then what they are doing is casting blame on themselves for the shutdown,

Let me get this right… a sufficient number Senate Democrats appear to be willing to reopen government to alleviate air travel for upper & upper-middle income people at the expense of access to healthcare for lower income people. Yes?

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.

The thing this always reminds me of is the apocryphal stories of, like, a cargo cult or somesuch hearing a radio for the first time and thinking there must be a tiny man trapped inside.
Sometimes I see people like 20 tweets deep into an argument with Grok. Like, what are you doing brother? You are trying to win an argument with a vending machine.

I have been loudly, persistently anti-Trump since the beginning. And tonight's election results just make me more sure: *there are more of us than there are of them* A good hard look at Trumpism in action has made that impossible to ignore.

Let's take this country back, and let's make it better.

As far as I can tell, Carney is "generously" "only" cutting research funding by 2%. The rest is Harper-ish plans for international recruitment (vs. funding those of us already here) and directing research funding toward industry needs (specifically, defence).

Here's the biggest PSE story you haven't heard yet: the Canada Student Grant for low-income students is being cut from $4200/year to $3000/year as of next August. It's implicit in the budget tables but the government is too chickenshit to actually say so directly.

Today, Heritage Foundation effectively said that "no enemies to our right" includes Fuentes.
