This is a terrible deal for anyone but Russia. Effectively it weakens Ukraine and puts Russia in a strong position to continue a war with a weakened Ukraine at a time of Russia’s choosing—and weakens the rest of Europe which is currently relying on US to fight on their behalf.
The US signaled to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that Ukraine must accept a US-drafted framework to end the war with Russia that proposes Kyiv giving up territory and some weapons, two people familiar with the matter said reut.rs/3X5jBBS

Many state GOPs are signaling that they are not on board Trump's autocratic project -- a great piece of data for those of us worried about the survival of American democracy.
The Indiana State Senate rejected President Donald Trump’s call for a special session to redraw the state’s congressional map ahead of the 2026 midterms. The move preserves Indiana’s current map and represents yet another rebuke of Trump’s national gerrymander push.

A major part of the YIMBY agenda is upzoning the suburbs.
YIMBYs often absolutely cannot admit this because it suggests that you can only achieve so much by upzoning the city. In fact some of the biggest gains from upzoning, I’d argue, are to be found in UPZONING THE SUBURBS, allowing low-density burbs to become moderate-density burbs.
The level of denial in the replies is amazing. Lots of people like living in the suburbs. That’s just all there is to it.

The reason we have laws* against bribery is that companies will absolutely bribe politicians at the very first opportunity if it is good for the bottom line, because they see it as a sound business decision, not a civilizational betrayal.

Richardson should never been in a position he was unqualified for.

At one point he told FEMA staff “I and I alone speak for FEMA.” In the last few weeks, DHS refused to let him talk to media.

Another agency rendered rudderless because the administration does not want to see it function.

This is awful and shows the power and necessity of public resistance. This particular incident happened early in the Trump admin. After the no kings rallies and the November election blowout, I’d be willing to bet more lawyers at big firms are willing to publicly oppose trumps lawless corruption.
The DOJ ordered US Marshals to the house of the pardon attorney who refused to sign off on a pardon to give Mel Gibson back his guns. Big law firms told her they supported her but did not want to be seen representing her.
This is the use of government-sponsored fear to silence dissent.

Not sure this really makes sense, but the only way to know for sure is to ask the White House press secretary every day and if she doesn’t explain which “Bubba” President Trump sucked off, to ask him directly at every public appearance. Like when that British Prime Minister made sweet love to a pig.
