We may look younger than people who hit 40 in the 1970s-1990s, but we're actually the oldest 40-year-olds to ever live. When the next great recession hits we're going to collectively turn to dust and blow away in the wind

I don’t know how to make people understand that this actually is our fucking lives.
Today a young nonbinary friend talked about being screamed at and threatened with violence on the subway with their (also trans) partner on New Year’s Eve. No one was hurt, but they’re shaken up.
I share this bc people are telling me that it’s unreasonable not to compromise with transphobes.

What's Lyman Stone's deal, you ask? He's one of those conservative dudes who thinks he's smarter than everyone else and thus able to perceive that reality affirms his positions in a way the libs can't. This rhetorical posture is enormously alluring to a media in search of both sides of every issue.

My dad asked me yesterday if daycare costs really affect birthrates or whether it's just being pushed by liberals with a daycare-expansion agenda. I told him honestly that we don't know for sure, and then also told him how we paid $2200 a month for Ezra. He was like 🫨
