I will no doubt read and enjoy all your very good Nuzzi jokes, but I also want to say earnestly, so many of us (myself included) are on the verge of being pushed out of this industry and it's genuinely so dispiriting to see the worst among us, ethics-wise, get such preferential treatment.

Look, I’m just going to say that if Emily thinks this standard was applied to every negative story that was run about Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden, Zohran Mamdani, etc. and that the same standards were used for Trump, she must think we are all waiting for a visit from the wallet inspector
I am not defending Landon’s relationship with Epstein. In fact, the NYT didn’t even try to defend it. He left the paper. What I’m saying is that a piece of investigative journalism that exposes a secret, criminal act such as statutory rape requires far more than what is in these emails.

The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.
