Neighbor left his window open.

I could hear his cockatiel screeching.

If you are from another country and struggling to understand American politics, let me simplify it for you.

Republicans kill American citizens, and Democrats make speeches about it

Kyle Rittenhouse did so, killed 2 people, wounded 1 person, & is ALIVE.

The fact that #AlexPretti is a dead villainized victim and Kyle Rittenhouse is an alive vigilante hero makes clear the 2nd Amendment is often treated as a right only for those on the right.

I love the line breaks in this by Gwendolyn Brooks, the softening of the ‘we’ gives the poem almost a jazz backbeat rhythm.

There is also great tension in the short lines as well as the language

That last line still starkly true 60 years later

Now that the White House is using AI to edit photos of their political opponents to create fascist propaganda I’m wondering if anyone could have seen this use of AI coming. Okay I’m hearing lots of people did and they were forced to watch corporations smother the masses with the technology anyways

This is an elected member of Congress & the GOP saying that he welcomes a war against another nuclear power who is literally our oldest ally & with whom we have a formal treaty military alliance.

Congrats again on that National Conversation™️ about which party has moved further from the center 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
Rep. Greg Steube: "You see Macron and the French sending troops to Greenland. I would love to see the US military up against French troops in Greenland, because it would not last very long. It would be a very small skirmish ... we don't care about what Macron and the French want."
