The steady rise of dedicated climbing gyms has effectively transformed the sport, bringing a once-niche activity to the mainstream and setting the sport up for even more growth — if the real estate market allows [ @kelkord.bsky.social @thehustle.bsky.social ]

Emil Seidel (1910-1912), Daniel Hoan (1916-1940), & Frank Zeidler (1948-1960) have likely impacted your life in ways you never think about, even if you’ve never stepped foot in Milwaukee.

And if city governments are laboratories of democracy, then the Cream City has been research central!
friendly reminder that socialist mayors governed Milwaukee for nearly half a century from 1910-1960

during this time Milwaukee achieved milestones such as being the healthiest, safest, and best-governed city in America

Some on the far right want to repeal the 19th amendment. Many more share a coercive, patriarchal view of women.

I wrote about this and how the far right sees subjugating women as key to building the sort of electorate they need to win. @liberalcurrents.com

Diversity doesn’t weaken unions. Racist bosses like Vance using racism to divide workers by race so they can exploit them weakens unions. All this stuff is arsonists complaining about the temperature in the building they set on fire. bsky.app/profile/diew...
JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

Hi all! If you're looking for a place to give some money my local food pantry could really use it. Cash is often the best way to support food pantries, especially bc so many are under-resourced & unable to process big influxes of food. And please feel free to repost! 💓 www.ebcnorfolk.org/foodpantry

I have a monthly standing donation to Astoria Food Pantry. Now that SNAP benefits are ending, every food bank needs your help, if you can swing it.
any donation is helpful, recurring donations especially help AFP remain consistent with twice weekly food distros—something that would be great to expand as the neighborhood need increases (and as we lose community fridges)

If I were editing a column about Charlie Kirk’s political genius, I would tell the writer he needed to quote Kirk’s actual political beliefs. If the writer responded that doing so would weaken or distract from his argument, it’d be a pretty good sign that the column was not ready for prime time.
