So much of our current predicament can be traced back to an inability to see and experience other people as fully people. It's not just that some folks think they are the main character in their lives, they think they are the ONLY character.

friends, I have been very heavily medicated due to kidney stones, and during that experience said some wild things, but I cannot imagine how high you would have to be to write this

I keep seeing folks responding to this by saying things like “we all know Bond is an alias,” but that’s actually rationalizing the narrative just as the Amazon folks are doing. But Bond is Bond. Every story coexists without coherence — he’s a vehicle for the myth. Why can’t we imagine mythically?
