The Cat in the Hat (2003) is one of the funniest comedies of the early 2000s and we should give it more flowers.

I looked at a media job application recently and it asked “what’s one celebrity or politican you’re obsessed with following?” And I closed it because I couldn’t even muster a fake answer. I rebuke that spirit near me
I think I would like a job because I would enjoy health insurance but I don't think I can do another media job. I think I would like a job such as naming the sweaters and pants for a clothing company. $200k a year.
no one wants to hire me. because my whimsy is a liability

never in my life would I have expected a FIFA Peace Prize winner to behave this way
WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.

A really sad follow-up to this story — Alexis Erlinmeyer, one of the trans federal intelligence workers who was fired, has died of a pulmonary embolism. She was 31. Her family is burying her under her deadname, so friends are fundraising for an accurate memorial: www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-...
NEW—In late Feb, Chris Rufo published leaked chats between queer/trans employees at US intel agencies. Then Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said she’d fire all involved.

I spoke to chat members who were fired, are on admin leave, and who kept their jobs about the new lavender scare:

Chris Rufo published the chats. Staffers say a new "lavender scare" is upon us.

Please make this go viral. It’s mind boggling and cruel….
Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

This time, the human streamer Vedal987 isn't there; it's purely the AI running the stream.

It was November 10th, a speech on a national issue.
Link to the whole speech, in Spanish, the clip is from min. 27.
Hole speech is good but focused on Colombian issues, not so interesting abroad.

A reminder that the Jan 6 attack had strong bipartisan disapproval for the first few months, until they got their party in line. I wouldn't pay much attention to early polls in this information environment.
Friendly reminder that W's Iraq invasion had 65% bipartisan approval when it started, even with debate about whether or not Saddam Hussein actually had WMDs. So the fact that this can't even crack 60% within the GOP is telling. 60% own-party support would typically kill a policy immediately.
Jan 3 poll of 1,902 U.S. adults (+/-2.8 points)
% who support | oppose the U.S. running Venezuela following the U.S. military's capture of President Nicolás Maduro
U.S. adults 34% | 41%
Democrats 16% | 64%
Independents 26% | 43%
Republicans 60% | 16%

So....a lot of folks knew about this in advanced 😵‍💫
Looks like the Trump administration is going to force the oil companies to rebuild Venezuela's oil infrastructure so they can seize the country's reserves, which the companies neither want nor need.

Let's hear it for free enterprise!
