“it’s reasonable to ask questions about trans girls in sports” was always intended to mainstream transphobia.

It’s absurd that people fell for it. Democrats are constantly letting oppressors set the terms of debate instead of just saying “no, fuck you.”

It's important that we assess the damage of gamergate, but as it was largely about harassing games journalists, I'm disappointed that this piece didn't actually talk to many games journalists. Many of us quit journalism since then, for good reason. I'm sad to not see that addressed.
GamesIndustry.biz spoke to some of the industry's most influential women about how they've seen attitudes change over the past decade and – crucially – what steps are still needed to encourage and retain female talent.

People support the idea. The issue is whether people will organize to make it happen. Hochul does not want to tax the rich and that's how universal childcare can happen.
"A new poll released by Siena University on Tuesday found that nearly two in three voters across the state favor the new benefit and would support Mr. Mamdani’s plan to pay for it by increasing taxes on those earning more than $1 million a year."
