My favorite evidence that congestion pricing in New York has reshaped peoples’ behavior: we can see a surge of people trying to enter the zone before the price kicks up at 5 a.m., and after it decreases at 9 p.m.

The State of the Chains report by @nycfuture.bsky.social is always interesting reading. Big chains are shrinking citywide, led by cuts at Starbucks. Dunkin' still undefeated in the 5 boros. Big box pharmacies in a tailspin. And food is driving a lot of the growth

Today the the MTA debuted a new style of fare gates it expects to install in 150 stations over the next five years. A few minutes before the demo, a woman got her neck caught in the door, and a man brazenly pushed the doors open to prove it can be gamed.
