Making a cardboard pirate ship with my son, singing sea shanties, trying to impart the importance of class solidarity, unions, and worker's rights, as one does. He's almost three, after all.

Two decades after a small Duke breast cancer vaccine trial, every participant is still alive — a rare outcome for metastatic disease. When researchers looked closer, they found the women’s immune systems still carried “memory” cells that recognised the cancer. buff.ly/MNeRhJh

The thing is, a lot of us simply dream of being able to redistribute wealth.
If I were a billionaire I'd post a lot & some of it would be about making other billionaires look bad. "Ope, I just funded all the GoFundMe's" or "Found a way to house all the unhoused people in Minneapolis, go me!" + shit like "check out this movie theater I bought where I show movies for free!"

This is so thoughtless and reductive
Obama: "Ethically speaking, it's an atrocity in a country this wealthy we have people just on the streets, & we should insist on policies that recognize their full humanity. But we should also recognize the average person doesn't want to have to navigate around a tent city in the middle of downtown"

We are WAY BEYOND a "rein in/ watchdog" situation here, Senator.
ABOLISH. DEFUND. PROSECUTE.

I am not voting for a single person who doesn't have this + trans rights as their platform, full stop.
Masked federal agents are killing Americans in the street and terrorizing our communities.

Enough.

I voted NO on bankrolling ICE's terror.

And I introduced a bill that'll create the toughest independent watchdog to rein in ICE and stop the violence.
Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Chris Coons to introduce bill aimed at strengthening oversight of ICE and CBP
Amid negotiations with the White House, the pair of Democrats is pitching the bill as an enforcement mechanism to go alongside the changes they're seeking.

This dog discovered his new favorite thing is to get his toy stuck somewhere unreachable to him on purpose, and then cry like the world is ending until we fetch it for him, rinse repeat...
He taught *us* how to fetch, essentially.
This is his victory face.

Tell you what I’m OVER: The patronizing framing of feature stories marveling at how moms are throwing down right now for their communities. Come on. They’re constantly doing this emotional labor, planning, and work. It is not a stretch to assume their *skills* can be put to use on a larger scale.

I don't know if this is gonna land the way I mean it but I say it in all earnestness: trans people just simply existing are literal heroes to me. The world is so violently shitty to you and I yearn for a day where it isn't. I will fight for a world where it isn't.

Me: "Did you clean up your toys?"
My son: "YEP!"
Me, noticing all his toy shelves are empty: "Hmm, hey buddy, where are all your toys then?"
Him: "They're all here in my shed!"

Jaywalking in the United States is a made up "crime" that was literally a psyop campaign....

funded by automakers

because their cars were killing pedestrians

So they turned it back around on the victims. "Jay" was a negative slang at the time for someone who was a gullible rural person.
I'm not especially opposed to driverless cabs, but I'm fucked if I'm giving up my ancestral British right to cross the road anywhere if it's safe for me to do so. "Jaywalking" isn't a thing or a crime here, techbros, so your magic cars will have to learn to deal with that.
Politics London discussing driverless taxis casually referring to “jaywalking pedestrians”.

Jaywalking is not a thing in UK law.

Transport for London and Government had better not be asleep at the wheel on this.
