"Fascist carpools drive around suburbs til they see a non-white person alone in a parking lot, and kidnap them" talk about easy targets.

Join the YIMBY movement, we're filling up abduction parking lots with housing and urban amenities. ICE will have to figure out how to kidnap people on bicycles.

Car culture and suburban sprawl makes fascism insanely easy.
Having seen several abductions up close, it is really hard to convey how much the thing they’re doing is roaming in military convoys until they see someone who is alone and isn’t white, and then jumping out in large numbers, pulling them into a van, and screeching off, all in 90 seconds or so.
"“They specifically asked me if I knew where the Hmong families lived on my street & in the neighborhood.” Lugert-Thom responded, “I don’t know anything about that” & she said they then asked, “Well, what about the Asian families?”"

Wow - again, if you build separated, protected bike lanes, people will use them. The better and more connected the routes are, the more ridership increases.
“Copenhagen reported that 62% of its residents are now commuting to work or school by bike — an increase from 52% in 2015 & 36% in 2012, when the City Council launched a 14-year-plan to improve the quality, safety & comfort of cycling.”

#Copenhagen chose. They keep choosing even better every year.

If any other technology were injuring random people at such an alarming high rate, a state of emergency would be declared. Recalls would happen. Federal investigations.

When it's cars, nothing is done. Even in a progressive city like Victoria, nothing happens.

This is what it looks like when a city is more comfortable sending bodies to the morgue than cars to the body shop.
Less than a week after they were installed, many of the flex posts on the BU bridge have been destroyed by vehicles. Appreciate the thought but cyclists clearly need more protection at these intersections.

When parents are afraid to let their children cycle, that’s not “choice” - it’s policy failure.
Unsafe roads + patchy Bikeability = less independence, worse health, more car dependence.
Children deserve safe streets.
