Actually disappointed by this. I thought it could be quite an interesting second season. Though I wonder if they just didn't want to budget it (as it would have been set in the middle east)

If (big if, but far from impossible) Andy Burnham managed to win in Oldham West, it would be (I think) a first in British politics: a leader of a party effectively doomed by their party winning a by-election.

Imagine the day after photo op – presumably Starmer wouldn’t show up?

I know we talk about Starmer as a naive inexperienced politician in the context of his management of the PLP but it really shows in his actual understanding of the state and how to govern Britain *itself*
Keir Starmer: “As Prime Minister, every time I go to pull a lever, there are a whole bunch of regulations, consultations, arms-length bodies that mean the action from pulling the lever to delivery is longer than I think it ought to be"

It’s time for leaders in the heterosexual community to denounce and reject the pathologies in their culture that lead to these beliefs and public behavior.
Trump doubles down on his Rob Reiner attack: "I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person... He became like a deranged person, Trump Derangement Syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape or form. I thought he was very bad for our country."

Terrific Rob Reiner story, this…
When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

I've just discovered the most "fake movie in a clumsy Hollywood satire" movie ever, except it happens to be real. The poster is amazing, too, especially that speech bubble.

In the original you’re aware of the horror of falling, but the body positions of the workers are solid on the beam. Here, most of them should be falling off, yet they don’t, because they live in an unreal, consequence-free space.
I guess it's fitting that it's a reimagined, worse version of someone else's artwork

Rob Reiner, as I found out just a few weeks ago, was vocal in his support of the first Stonewall March in texas, all the way back in 1977, made his support of queer rights VERY public when it was not even a little bit fashionable to do so.
Rob Reiner was one of the key people behind the effort to go to court to overturn California's anti-marriage equality Proposition 8 when it passed in 2008.

Working with Chad Griffin, they founded the American Foundation for Equal Rights and got Ted Olson and David Boies to team up to fight Prop 8.

Rob Reiner was known to millions as a TV actor and film director. But he was also an outspoken supporter of progressive causes and a Democratic Party activist who went beyond the typical role of celebrities who host glitzy fundraisers.
Rob Reiner used his fame to advocate for progressive causes. 'Just a really special man. A terrible day'
The Hollywood director known for 'Stand by Me' and 'When Harry Met Sally' was also a political force and an outspoken voice for same-sex marriage and early childhood education.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.
