Following very closely the situation in Venezuela.

We stand by the people of Venezuela and support a peaceful and democratic transition.

Any solution must respect international law and the UN Charter.

In 2020, I made a long thread on The Other Site on how Trump appeared to be following the Panama/Noriega playbook of using drug trafficking as a pretext to begin preparing for an invasion of Venezuela. Tragically that has been proven correct.

I had a presser with DV advocacy groups to talk about how dangerous Laken Riley would be to victims of domestic violence. One of our reps, Angie Craig, Dem voted for it. She’s now running for our open senate seat bemoaning what ICE is doing to MN. The hypocrisy is stunning. @jesspish.bsky.social
Some commentators appear to think the Laken Riley act was not important or that it had no impact on "mass deportation" because "Trump would do it anyways." It absolutely did; ask people in detention for weeks and months/ the people who died or had their lives shortened bc of detention.

Say this louder for the people in the back! Walz is a moderate, and while I appreciate that he's governor, let's not forget that he gets pushed by the WOMEN in this state.
tim walz won his governorship by running as a pro-pipeline moderate who was in touch with rural people

he got pushed to the left by the house DFL caucus and Minnesota organizing

And again, this resonates with what Team Fight is demanding Dems do about Trump once they take power back—this is the equivalent of a Day One executive order from the next president repealing all of Trump's executive orders and announcing that his ballroom will be razed.

so, for example, trump's pardons, which are corrupt, is more likely to lead to fewer clemency for everyone. or, for example, calls to punish individual ice officers (which seems very popular from what i can tell online) will again miss the point of how we got here.

I have no idea where to get onion rings in Minneapolis on a non-holiday, much less on New Year's Day. Is there such a place?

I’ve never been disappointed by the food at a Somali restaurant, but if you’re looking for a good one to try these days, I went to Qurexley (the one near the Aldi) the other day with a friend and, as always, it was wonderful. It was also much less full than it usually is; folks are scared.

Sadly, I don't think liberals are embarrassed; I think they don't like immigration. Clinton signed both NAFTA and the Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act.
And I think liberals should stop taking the bait and ceding ground on immigration.

Immigration is good. Multiculturalism is good. Free trade is good. Stop being embarrassed to say so.
