Consider this payment with interest on a debt the Mets owe to Baltimore for getting two years of Eddie Murray as an RBI machine. Murray, of course, should never have been allowed to retire as anything other than an Oriole, as with Alonso and Queens.

Baseball and capitalism are a loveless marriage.
BREAKING: The Baltimore Orioles and Pete Alonso have agreed to a five-year, $155M contract, a source confirms to @ken-rosenthal.bsky.social.

Portlandia director Krisel has been on the verge of breaking into film for years, and will apparently do so with the darkly comic Hey Bear.

It’s essentially an emergency that you see One Battle After Another in the cinema immediately. Sean Penn will win an Oscar & it has the best car chase in many years. And those aren’t in the top 3 best things about the film. Jesus shitting Christ.

I don’t think One Battle After Another can be over-hyped. You’re going to hear alot of what sounds like awards season hyperbole about it, but it’s not - the movie is undeniable, it really is that good. And it’s a big funny entertaining action movie, but also much more. I can’t wait to see it again.

I wouldn't compare Sterlin Harjo's new FX comic mystery to "Reservation Dogs."

I *would* compare it to "Terriers" and "Lodge 49."

My review:
‘The Lowdown’ Review: Sterlin Harjo and Ethan Hawke Reunite for FX’s Low-Key Tulsa Noir Charmer
Hawke plays a journalist and used book dealer investigating a murder that might not be a murder in the Oklahoma-set comic mystery.

mRNA vaccines not only stopped Covid in its tracks, they promised massive developments in other virulent diseases, including many forms of cancer. The Secretary of Health and Human Services has just dramatically increased the number of people who will die needlessly in the coming decade.
"The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today announced the beginning of a coordinated wind-down of its mRNA vaccine development activities...."

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

The pandering is funny, but way funnier is the laziness -- like he knows he has to say some shit about Jesus in order to keep the coalition of Christians on his side, but he doesn't bother to take two seconds to learn a single phrase or piece of scripture they actually use.
