Big: Wyoming supreme court just struck down abortion ban.

And get this: The reason is a constitutional amendment codifying a right to make health care decisions... passed in 2012 by conservatives who thought it'd screw Obamacare!

Quite the backfire. We explained this lawsuit a few years back:
How Attacks Against Obamacare Turned Into Tools to Protect Abortion Access  - Bolts
Explore our ongoing Bolts series, Abortion Rights in State Constitutions. A decade ago, when conservatives were attacking President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act as government encroachment in hea...

Yeah, I came to a similar conclusion a year or two back.

It’s not just our current mess. I found gender issues popping up in historical reading about the histories of Zionism and antisemitism.

It probably runs all through politics of all kinds.
kind of darkly funny that "gender studies" is the stereotypical "useless degree" because gender studies will help you understand a large and important chunk of the current psychosis in american life

For those who think impeachment isn't practical good tactics:

If a president violates the constitution or breaks the law and you don't impeach, you're ceding that the constitution is void and so is the law.

So much for practicality and good tactics.

It’s a form of pareidolia, I think; people have a very hard time with the absolute void at the center of what’s happening, and so the pattern matching wetware, with literally no guidelines, goes ballistic.

I wonder what’s so special about this one block (between Washington & Underhill Avenues, Park & Sterling Places) that it had to be carved out of NY-10 (Dan Goldman) and kept in NY-9 (Yvette Clarke).

Do Canada's ambassadors not go to the good schools that teach the difference between “flaunt” and “flout”?
The US “openly flaunting international law sends a signal to all of us that every president and every prime minister is potentially a target of US military action. There doesn’t seem to be any constraints on what the Trump administration would consider.” — former Canadian ambassador to Venezuela

“Some legal experts said kidnapping foreign heads of state may contravene international law. Others, however, said they wrote some SSRN papers for the Institute for Libertarian Feudalism showing that the heart of the US constitutional tradition is the President can do what he likes, if I like it.”

Am I supposed to conclude that Schumer thinks Congress should have been given the opportunity to fully participate in the nation-building quagmire?

Is that the moral? No subjugation without participation?
Schumer: "Congress should not be sidelined as the Trump administration, gets sucked into another nation building quagmire and we're going to hold them accountable, protect American lives to protect America's interests. No one can explain to me how this is America first."

Hard to watch US TV media discussing how the US might occupy and run a foreign country as if it’s a perfectly normal political development.

You know, it’s plausible that this was done without a plan for what comes after because the only real goal was to get video of US troops looking cool arresting Marudo so it can be posted Online. It seems to be the only thing that matters to this administration.
