“‘Over the next three years or so, unless Congress steps in, the Park Service will be pretty seriously damaged, you might almost say dismantled,’ says former NPS director Jonathan Jarvis, who served as the agency’s head from 2009 to 2017…

basically all this shit is Roberts' fault, because the immunity made Trump feel like he could break the law as much as he wants without consequences. bsky.app/profile/jayw...
Here's a fun little nugget from Trump's demand that DOJ pay him, personally, $250 million: In his memo, he argues that prosecutors "should have foreseen" that he has "immunity from prosecution for officials acts." Thank you John Roberts, great rule of law-ing, sir! static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics...

I want everyone who signed a Harper’s Letter , who ignored the attacks on Black and Queer teachers .

Every editor who refused to assign a piece on gender or silenced all those reporters who tried to be brought to the front and made to answer about how this isn’t free speech suppression
From a transcript of a faculty meeting discussing this:

Faculty are being told to not teach on gender and sexuality at all, regardless of their field, and the Dean isn’t even sure if the faculty *can accept papers from students that discuss these topics*.

Now that summer is over, Chicago is still on track to have fewer homicides in 2025 than almost any other year since 2001. This is especially impressive considering that the five most violent years of the 21st century have all been in the past decade.
