Really important shift and as someone swinging away, socialist-ly, for decades it's been heartening to see.

You can also tell who is serious about politics by welcoming this change and working with them, vs those who are in it purely for culturally clique reasons and have no pathway to power.

Essential conversation that I think objectively lays out that there’s an enormous opportunity to reach and organize liberals who are filled with rage and open to socialist politics like never before. Made me extremely optimistic.

Truly wonderful and provocative interview this - stay to the end for an argument about the ways that ecological disasters in the twenty-first century may play the same role that proletarianisation played in the nineteenth - allowing us to "organise across difference" in conditions of emergency.

Fascinating interview w/ field director of NYC DSA, Tascha Van Auken. Among many other things of note: the imprint of Obama 2008 organizing strategy devised by Marshall Ganz. The demobilization of that organizing cadre in the teeth of the Great Recession was a huge tragedy. Lesson learned.
