There’s a kind of audacity for any white person to think their opinion on the Black National Anthem matters. Like…Not one Black person in this world cares what any of you think of that song?

I finally got my hands on Minneapolis Reckoning by @michellesphelps.bsky.social. This is the type of book I’m trying to make.

There‘s always one student that thinks I’m playing about them needing to read until they see that I’m not. If you’re in college get acquainted with books. Lord.

Funny, not funny story. We got a call
asking why Miles wasn‘t in school. We said he is in school. A few minutes later, “oh, they we hit the wrong button.” Oh, the hell they saved themselves from. 🙃

I've become one of the go to professors for participation in student Black History Month programming. Life comes at you fast, I remember being the student sending those late ass requests. 😂

I didn’t realize so many people have so much anxiety about not understanding the language spoken in the room. Like…Relax and trying to learn a different language/dialect if it’s that deep (it’s not that deep btw).

I'm stopping by to say I have ideas again! Writing is hard and it's flowing again. Yaaay, because it's this job or showing elbows on OnlyFans for me.

I'm teaching my Political Storytelling class this semester. Thank you Bad Bunny for dropping this performance right between the classes on political identity and the one on stories of personhood - we'll be talking about it for weeks. #PoliticalStorytelling

The high of halftime and the low of actually watching this game. 🤣

I just think it’s really special to be able to feel someone‘s music even if you don’t know exactly what they are saying.

One of the mysteries of the world is that so many don’t seem to understand the song was about dubyah. 🤣
They sang “American Idiot”

Higher ed in Florida is spiraling and I hope those students and administrators are ignoring such a silly demand.
FAMU can't use the word Black on anything posted around campus related to Black History Month, to stay in compliance with Florida state laws against DEI. Black students can't use the word Black at their Historically Black College during Black History Month.

I saw Bad Bunny live in Chicago against my will. It was one of the best concerts I’ve been to. He’s very good live.

Are folks really going to turn away from the Super Bowl to listen to Kid Rock’s shrill voice? 🤣🤣🤣

I don’t mean to toot my own horn (toot toot), but the Speaker Series committee has really added needed life to the PoliSci department at UAlbany. We are getting great researchers.

lol I don't think a lot of white people believe that Black people are reliable narrators of our own stories.

And IMO this comes from white people wanting to downplay how much anti-Black racism shapes Black people's lives.
How do white people delude themselves into believing that they can identify anti-Black racism better than a Black person? Enough to refute the validity of a Black person’s claim of anti-Black racism??? Like…how does one get to that level of ability to lie to themselves?

I feel like this is why some states are getting rid of tenure too. Lowering the bar because most of the nuts they want to hire just don’t have the right credentials.
one way of thinking about this is that the acceleration of educational polarization brought about by Trump's takeover of the GOP has made it increasingly difficult for Republican administrations to recruit competent, educated professionals for critical government jobs

I honestly think Vance is more hated than Trump which is quite the accomplishment.
Regardless of one’s feeling about it, such a public response to a political leader is news, and deliberately failing to mention it is self-censorship. It’s like if reporters agreed not to report on the man who threw a shoe at George Bush. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
