This is why the bubble is deflating. “AI” boosters will cite this as an example of an LLM that doesn’t run at a loss but then, when you point out the bad answers from cheap models, they cite much more expensive models & usage patterns as being more accurate. They’re stuck with a catch 22.
Good news about the cutting-edge AI tools from the $3-trillion-dollar company.

There are major federal tasks forces operating still in Memphis, New Orleans, Miami-Dade, Phoenix, South Texas, still raiding homes, kidnapping people, black-bagging people from courthouses.

If ICE does controversial things but doesn't *say* controversial things, it disappears from the news.

The fact that mainstream media stopped covering ICE kidnappings in LA isn't because ICE stopped kidnapping (they didn't)

Or ICE slowed down (they have actually increased their tempo)

Or that resistance to ICE slowed down (it never stopped, it grew)

It's the "political showdown" that stopped.

Swear to god, ICE could just announce they're leaving a city but not leave and the media will just stop covering that city completely even though ICE never left.

It's what ICE and the media did with LA and they're doing it with Minneapolis too

This is like a scene out of Monty Python.

ICE agents get a name back from face recognition and multiple agents start calling out "Maria! Maria!" to see if a woman in custody reacts. (Presumably if she does that's a match???)

It didn't work, so they ran the app again and got another name.

They will never meaningfully limit ICE or DHS because they absolutely 100% do not oppose it on principle, only aesthetics.

They only care about the vibes not being visibly rancid, so they can brag about being tougher on the border than Trump, like Biden and Kamala did.

I tried to help a woman in a parking lot; she had a flat tire with an audible leak, but refused to accept this diagnosis because ChatGPT said that wasn’t the problem. There was an AutoZone full of Fix-A-Flat *right across the street* but nooooooooo. Anyway, AI makes you stupid, film at eleven.
While reporting this, I had something happen that's never happened. A comms rep for one of the co's disputed my reporting and said what I was telling them was untrue because it was not in Grok, xAI's chatbot.

I was looking directly at the files. And this person was using AI to challenge the truth.
Epstein had many known connections to Silicon Valley CEOs, but less known was how he made money from those relationships.

We did a deep dive into how he got dealflow in Silicon Valley, giving him shots to invest in Coinbase, Palantir, SpaceX and other companies.

One of the reasons I so greatly dislike the “can men and women be friends?” nonsense (yes, full stop, shut up) is that it casts suspicion on people with opposite-sex friends instead of where it more often belongs: on people with no opposite-sex friends.
Anyway, yeah. The overwhelming impression one gets from so many of these emails is that a lot of them are guys who have never had a real, serious friendship with a woman in their lives.

Which sucks for them, but also sucks for every woman who has to deal with them, ever.

The men and women emailing with Epstein are the exact same people who believe that you shouldn’t have access to women’s and gender studies. Ask yourself why.

All true, but the mainstream media is also failing to directly say “data centers in space are impossible and Elon musk lies all the time about stuff” which allows him to pump his stocks!
The SpaceX/xAI merger situation is actually pretty important and, I think, very bad. "Data centers in space" is a bit of a pipe dream, but SpaceX now dominates low-Earth orbit in a highly concerning way. Starlink is real and could monopolize a lot of things. Not Good!
