I remember when I worked at the Rogers Centre and an American tourist asked me if there was controversy about building the stadium on prime downtown real estate.
1) idk man I was 4 when it opened
2) why WOULDN'T you build a stadium integrated into the city and basically connected to a transit hub?

Assuming they even stop before making that right on red.
Car brain is thinking it's OK to pull into the crosswalk before stopping if you're making a right on red. Or going straight. What do you mean, "back up" I'm already stopped! Just go around, JEEZ!!!

It is nearly always clear from context that when people use "during Covid" they mean "during the emergency response to the Covid-19 pandemic" (too long to write every time!) and are not making any statement at all about the continued circulation of the virus or the effects of the disease.
Maybe unpopular take but I think "during COVID" is fine!
Death data show a clear acute phase from spring 2020 until spring 2022. Since then deaths have steadily trended downward and this winter fell below flu deaths. You can take COVID seriously and still talk about the worst of it in the past tense
