I know Spotify has a listening limit of 15 hours on ebooks… so I’m confused why my 11 hour book is like 75% done and I got told I used all my hours. Even with rewinds there’s no way I rewinded 4 hrs worth of book!

We should have a memorial day for COVID. It is horrific that we as a society have done virtually nothing to remember the millions who have died. Rushing to forget what happened also makes it much more likely that we will continue to repeat our deadly mistakes.

My mother died of Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. It’s a cruel and unforgiving disease.

I’m so mad. Frustrated and hurt that people listen to “trust me bro” instead of people who have researched this all their lives.

We are very close to a near cure for two of the highest-mortality cancers we know: glioblastoma and pancreatic cancer. These are both mRNA based treatments which are losing their funding during stage I and II trials. Thousands will die needlessly because of this motherfucker and his lies.

It reminds me of another galling baked-in media assumption: that people in blue cities just don't *understand* the concerns of people in rural, redder areas ... as if millions of people who live in blue cities didn't actually move away *from* red areas to find someplace more hospitable.
The problem with pieces like this, which are countless, is the prevailing media assumption that left-of-center Americans need constant corrective instruction about how to be in and engage with the world, whereas right-of-center Americans are simply to be observed in awe, like rainbows or mountains.
