I'm an anthropologist (PhD).
My ethnographic research is on Hindu/Buddhist pilgrimage and sacred fossils (called Shaligrams) in the Himalayas of Nepal.
My new project focuses on robot religion in South Asia.

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

This is really the critical point: Firefox is packing its browser with AI slop functions by default; relying on a user actively choosing to turn it off.

So, apropos of nothing, I just recently saw the movie "She Will" and, uh, I have to say, I never knew a movie could speak to me on so, so many levels. Alice Krige is a gem.
