Just learned that AIPAC has now jumped into a fourth open seat House race in Illinois, backing Melissa Conyears Ervin with what has been described as a $2.8 million buy (around $500k a week).
This is straight up AIPAC, not a shell PAC, through United Democracy Project.

This is the official two week notice whereby everyone I need to cuss out is going to get dragged before the beginning of Ramadan inshallah.

AIPAC-affiliated super PAC United Democracy Project (UDP), which just spent millions on ads to defeat Tom Malinowski in #NJ11, only to end up helping elect an even more progressive candidate, Analilia Mejia, has turned to Illinois

The super PAC placed a cable ad buy in #IL07 👇🏼

Ebo Taylor, who did for Ghanaian music what his friend Fela Kuti did for Nigeria, has been called the greatest rhythm guitarist in history.

His son Kweku Taylor:
“The world has lost a giant, a colossus of African music, leaving behind an unmatched artistry legacy. Dad, your light will never fade.”

Even now, charter school proponents are paid full-time to agitate residents into believing their government is ignoring them while pursing equity-focused initiatives.

Conservatives want a Chicago with different 'sides', it helps them kill government faster.

this school has a fascinating story

it started as an elementary, they added on to make a junior high, they built the high school addition to encourage attendance

they worked with students to make a schedule so kids still work and make wages to help their families

and it was a community center

Anthropic and Google now seem to get that the primary value people get out of AI is doing annoying work they don't want to do (coding, basic research, drafting emails, etc), OpenAI/XAI/Meta seem to still think image/video slop and search replacement are the future

U.K. might lose a prime minister because a guy who worked for him knew another guy who hung out with Epstein. Meanwhile the U.S. opposition party is telling our President, who was Epstein's best friend, that his secret police should get better training so their public street murders look less messy.

“Collection of Handwritten Letters from Children in Detention Center” sounds like an exhibit in the Holocaust Museum.
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

But if you were looking for political commentary, the closest that you got was when he said “God bless America” in English.
Analysis | Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was expected to provoke. Did it?
The Bad Bunny Super Bowl show nodded to injustices in Puerto Rico but mostly evoked wholesome family values that meshed with the more sentimental commercials.
