Thats $750 per road cone over 2 years. For comparison if you wanted to purchase a road cone theyre only $35.

The govt thats says theyre against wasteful spending is pissing your tax money down the drain like its nothing.

what 'brand' you wonder? oh, just the NZ National Party

We are now past the point where corporate media commentary and embedded advertising are justifiable. This is going to get MUCH worse over 2026 unless there are consequences

Something I (unfortunately) need to teach product managers from certain career paths is that technology, no matter how complex, is automation; we start with people interacting. Who benefits? Who is harmed? What must be true for this to work as intended?

Well worth the rewatch. Seymour is from the mustelid family.
Mihingarangi Forbes is a national treasure & this is outstanding.
In light of the rampant abuse of power NZ is facing with this Govt dismantling laws that stop us being looted and taken over by big money it's probably a good time for people to check out or revisit this excellent investigative piece by Mihingarangi Forbes ... #NZPol

What an absolute romp!
Alas! It is 31 years since the world was deprived of one of its more colourful culinary characters: Phyllis Nan Sortain Pechey – better known as double bigamist, child abandoner, amphetamine user, dangerous driver, and celebrity cook Fanny Cradock

The most touching Christas gift I received this year. From my seven year old niece who collected the seeds using her own self designed origami seed collector and funnel and made these packets for everybody. Love.

I used to think everyone could see things as they really are, then I realised some people don’t want to see things as they really are, then sadly I realised some people like things as they really are. Thoughts like this make me want to get on my bike and ride away 😞🚲

This is a great example of how genAI steals from us all on multiple levels. It's stolen a promotional spot for real books and authors, it's stolen a job from an actual journalist who could have compiled this, it's stolen an opportunity for parents to be recommended good NZ books for their kids
#4 sounds like a lovely book but I didn't write it. Have had whānau up and down the country send me clippings lol
Whoever put together this list that has been circulated to regional papers, didn't fact check.

I don't think corruption gets enough follow up in New Zealand. The links (should I say "concidences") between donations to politicians/parties and laws passed. The NZF/Costello tobacco link. NZF and fishing industry. Property and virtually every RW party.

This is bonkers, neoliberalism destroying our healthcare system on purpose.

Hospitals asked to save $510 million despite $538 million going unspent
The "underspend" was due in part to unfilled vacancies and the fact Health NZ has yet to settle collective contract disputes.

here in NZ, when a woman makes a reliable complaint of serious sexual abuse against a very senior police officer & that man is found to indeed be very bad, we eventually whisper NAUGHTY BOY very softly then just prosecute the woman for sending too many emails about it

It's 'White' debates 'Cloud dancer' vibes
We don’t need two politically aligned right wing psychopaths debating how many people should be burned on the pyres of austerity.

Can’t they just cover it off on their weekly conference call and leave us all the fuck alone.

We don’t need any more

The fact that we have super wealthy and extremely stupid people trying to set themselves up as new nobles has made historical nobility, which I only know from books, far more real to me. These people were not smart, they did not rule well, and rigid hierarchies of domination are very bad.
