I’ve just emailed Stuffs editor keith.lynch@stuff.co.nz about a follow up on the article of the PM working from about the 3rd of Jan. I suggest the only way we get media doing their job is if they are emailed by lots of people to write a follow up article, oh and ask about the health hack as well.

RNZ reported Marama Davidson calling Luxon out.

I haven't seen any official communication from the govt, te whatu ora or Manage my health about the likely uses of the stolen health data and how people can protect themselves from potential incoming scams. The best info has been coming from Bluesky. Pathetic response from Brown. #nzpol

HISO regulations are really clear and important frameworks and guidelines for how to treat health data. There are even separate guidelines for the size and type of org. Every org with access to health data has to follow these. Time to prosecute.

I think this is because he's an opposition MP, knows how to knock things but doesn't know how to build them or protect them.

Excellent wording Phil. Thank you for this thoughtful and fulsome response.

Even private enterprises accessing national health number information is massively regulated. So this response from Brown is as shit as his name.

He must be back at work today πŸ™„

Totally agree. Was the first conversation in our house when I read the RNZ article. They have the beehive press release site and full access to media... so wtf.

Give it a go, I'd love to hear the result.

Nice bait.

And when Grok has been accurate in responses, it has been taken offline for retraining to be more Musk-like. Super place to make an official announcement.

He's just not aware.

Hard to tell the difference to when he's awake and not aware.

Exactly! Horrificly underwhelming responses from the world's leaders today (or complete silence if you're NZ's Potato Manager and Deputy Dave)
January 4, 2026 at 6:48 AM
Not Deputy Dave either. They've left NZ in the hands of the old age pensioner.

And deputy Seymour silent for the first time ever. Funny that he happens to be in Sth America at the moment.
