NEW: Federal judges are increasingly furious at what they see as a pattern / playbook of defiance by the Trump administration to court orders in immigration cases — in Minnesota and around the country.

Here’s a look at what they’re seeing: www.politico.com/news/2026/02...
How the Trump administration skirts — and defies — court rulings on ICE detentions
A POLITICO review of hundreds of cases brought by ICE detainees shows a pattern of noncompliance that has frustrated judges across the country.

I thought about why I’ve been pushing back on stolen midterm fears. What’s the harm of worry, even if it doesn’t materialize?

It’s this. The regime has less capacity than it’d like, and tries to make up the difference with bluster. If people act as if it’s true, that grants the regime more power.
don't carry maga's water for them. don't try to work out how there's some secret loophole in the constitution that magically ends democracy. there isn't. that's the whole fucking point you fucking dopes

Voss had been the civil chief in the office and her resignation and forthcoming departure was reported previously.

There was a #StarTrekProdigy Art Book in the works. I was going to co-write it.

It went into limbo when it was removed from Paramount+ with uncertainty if Season Two would find a home. Then more uncertainty when Paramount was merging with Skydance.

If you want it — Trek fans should rally for it!
That said, if they don't release a #StarTrekProdigy art book it will be a literal crime.

Another classic post-Homan day where around school dismissal time we get a flurry of ICE vehicles all across our neighborhoods. Today one vehicle led an observer to their own home and pointed at it. This is a sick game to them, but we won’t be intimidated and we won’t stop until DHS is abolished.

The White House just sent a "Don't Panic" email. That'll do it

Less than 14% of nearly 400,000 immigrants arrested by ICE in Trump's first year back had charges or convictions for violent criminal offenses, according to an internal DHS document obtained by CBS News — undermining the admin's claim that they're primarily targeting dangerous and violent criminals.

The official DHS statistics, which had not been previously reported, provide the most detailed look yet into who ICE has arrested during the Trump administration's crackdown.

Definitively one of the most momentous events in legal history. It should be a public holiday.
Today is the 5th anniversary of the release of the infamous #Lawyercat video, which I posted roughly thirty minutes after the start of the second impeachment trial. Who would have thought it would have such a lasting impact on the world! Happy Lawyercat Day for all who celebrate!

I arrived too late to an abduction yesterday. Ice vehicles boxed in a food delivery driver on the highway. They took him, and when I came on the scene (with a few other neighbors in cars), his keys were still in it. We found his phone, a debit card, his car title and registration.

Ten years ago today, #SCOTUS issued five unsigned and unexplained 5-4 rulings granting emergency applications to block President Obama’s Clean Power Plan—a completely unprecedented move that helped to usher in the Court’s modern … (mis)adventures … with its shadow docket.

The February 2016 rulings blocking the Clean Power Plan were unprecedented; in retrospect, they were harbingers of a paradigm shift in the Supreme Court's role.
