People have been staging concerts in unconventional spaces since the beginning of the internet. But, yeah, this is a little too close of a ripoff. Appreciate the comments!

If I was in town, I'd be going to this. Don't make the same mistake I made -- be in town, and go to it.

I have some fresh questions about how Wolff got almost 18 months of unrestricted access to both the Trump campaign and, later, the West Wing to write his book (that curiously doesn't mention this at all to my knowledge)

Plus I lay out my theory about what part of NYC I think Sesame Street is really in.
Part one of our two-part look at the birth of Sesame Street. Today we look at the big ideas about television, children's psychology, and set design that went into designing the world of Sesame Street. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Here's a *big idea* I've been rattling around lately: I wonder if this week's election might prove to be a capper on a covid-era politics of online fear and disassociation. It feels like people are actually, finally, looking around and comparing reality to what they've been sold by an algorithm.

Maybe it's just the bubble I've built for myself, but there's such a rich ecosystem of social content that celebrates the streetscape of NYC -- foodies, street interviews, guys walking around making beats -- and I think that's going to have to be a big piece of the puzzle going forward.
NYC is going to have the world's biggest media-manufactured crime panic in history the second Mamdani is elected. They aren't even going to wait until he is inaugurated. Whether or not you like the guy, you need to start preparing now for the fire hose of disinformation that is about to activate.
