fwiw it’s been about six weeks since Trump pardoned the former president of Honduras who had been convicted of trafficking drugs into the US

@sarahkendzior.bsky.social is exactly correct in that “justice” has never been an intended part of this story. Instead it’s been to get us accustomed to the idea of “They’re rich and powerful so they can do what they want and we can’t do anything about it.” Read her work.
There has long been enough evidence to indict and the slow release is intended to 1) further torment Epstein victims 2) get Americans used to child rape by elites 3) flaunt impunity, since there have been no meaningful consequences for perpetrators 4) arrive right when AI casts everything in doubt.

It's true that Garland did nothing about Trump and Epstein while being completely aware of the crimes. The crimes were public information! Garland was installed to protect the DOJ, which protects Trump and Epstein. It's explained in this free 2023 article. sarahkendzior.substack.com/p/servants-o...

Within 48 hours we’ve had the Coast Guard reverse a planned policy saying “Swastikas are okay with us.” Then the WH confirming that “No, POTUS doesn’t want to execute Democrats.”

So, remind me again how this is a normal, functioning government.

The DoJ is openly acting as Trump’s law firm. There’s no chance whatsoever that they’d release anything even remotely damaging.

Still, since they’re also staffed with raging incompetents, there’s a chance they release damaging info anyway.
Do you really think a Department of Justice that lies to judges about grand jury indictments is going to be open and honest about the Epstein Files?

If you receive an illegal order, you have a duty to disobey.

This isn’t controversial.

A President calling for the execution of anyone who reminds service members of this oath is showing us why the duty to disobey illegal orders is so important in the first place.

Translation: Trump knew he was going to lose the House vote. He may still be confident that the Senate will hold the line. And don’t forget that a portion of the files may be held back because they’re part of an “active investigation” against Democrats.
In reversal, Trump says House Republicans should vote to release Epstein files

Trump is under the mistaken impression that the Epstein scandal is about Democrats vs Republicans. Actually, it’s about pedophiles vs people who want pedophiles to spend the rest of their lives in prison

I could be mistaken. But every time Trump rails about Epstein, he doesn’t sound angry, or affronted. He sounds scared.

The Dems won’t get another donation from me until they oust Chuck Schumer from leadership.

In a moment that demanded courage, he chose cowardice.

I’ll donate to individual candidates, but no longer to the general party fund.

It’s not that we didn’t want the shutdown to end, it’s the fact that millions of people suffered throughout this shutdown and it was for nothing. That’s the most upsetting part.

Despite waving the occasional rainbow flag, raised fist, or posting a “Black Lives Matter” sticker the elite at Democratic senators are the same as their GOP colleagues. They’re insulated from the lives of most Americans, cozy in their status, and don’t really care.
Remember when some of us said the Democratic leadership would take all the wrong lessons from the blue tsunami and squander all the goodwill?

Here you go.

Democrats have to stop bailing out Republicans from facing the consequences of their own policies. And yeah, that means they have to stop sparing voters from experiencing what GOP government truly means.

Every time Dems step in, it only emboldens the GOP & they make it even worse the next time.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

The whole GOP shutdown strategy is hoping that sheer force of propaganda can convince the public that things getting worse does not reflect badly on the people in charge of the government, and that hurting America more will get Democrats to acquiesce to the Trump admin hurting America in other ways.
Sean Duffy: "We have a number of people who want to get home for the holidays, they want to see their family. Listen, many of them are not going to be able to get on an airplane."
