Starting in early June 2020, I worked to create a public archive of T. Greg Doucette's Police Brutality Mega-thread (PBMT). The PBMT collected over 1300 pieces of photographic and video evidence of over 1000 illegal acts of police bruality in America in the wake of George Floyd's murder. 1/4

The invisible labor of people admin, being an asst, & caretaking, is like being Penny + Brain the Dog in Inspector Gadget. The inspector never has a clue 80% of the time his ass is managed - and saved - by Penny and Brain.

He's allowed to do his job without ever needing to thinking of the details
a cartoon of a man and a dog on a rope
Alt: Cartoon opening to the INSPECTOR GADGET series. Inspector Gadget is crossing a rope strung between the rooftop of two buildings. But they way he crosses it: Brain the Dog has two footplates on posts that he balances Gadget on as Gadget takes each step, while Brain is doing the actual highwire balancing and crossing act.

Does anyone have that sharpie tool where we can name every one of the people smiling, nodding, or even standing silently as Trump unloads this racist attack?

Because I can see a future in which a lot of people will be saying, “I wasn’t there.”
Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."

We'll need so many.
People say they want to manufacture real things in America again BUT they complain that it’s “inappropriate” and “not productive” to talk about how we need lots of guillotines. Like make up your minds!

Government actors who refuse to be bound by the rule of law are not morally entitled to its protection.
KARL: Did you know about the judge's order when you issued your order for the planes to continue?

KRISTI NOEM: This is an activist judge. We comply with all federal orders that are lawful and binding.

Applied mathematicians! Is there one go-to handbook of applied math techniques that you would want an undergraduate to have in their library? (A little DE, a little linear optimization, a few basic stats techniques, ...?)

That's actually one of the things I find creepiest about the rural west. It's *so* *white*. In Virginia and North Carolina I had Black and Latino neighbors. The west is super segregated in a way I find really off-putting.
Like most of the rural south my neighborhood was way more racially integrated than the rural north - I always had Black neighbors in the south. But you had to watch the whites real careful.

Or the laws of armed conflict. Or the Geneva conventions. You cannot kill people who have been rendered hors de combat in a military action.
Decent answer, but this is why CNN needs experts on the law of the sea on, instead of the usual political commentators. They could easily explain why this violates maritime rules.
