I'd like to believe that in the coming decades, when historians try to unravel what happened, this book will be read widely for the insights into the tide of weirdness that seemed to catch policymakers and a lot of academics by surprise. Good analysis by Mike.
January 6th was one act in an interlocking web of scams, conspiracy theories, hoaxes, moral panics, and personality cults. QAnon was a big part of it, but Q itself came from countless sources. I tried to make sense of the insanity as it was happening:

Sometimes I imagine going back in time 1000 years and describing life in 2025. "Regular shops have fresh fruit and spices from the other side of the planet" and "we've sent a probe to Mars" still seem easier to explain than "random people arguing with the Pope in his replies".
I haven't been on Twitter since long before Leo became Pope, but I will never stop being amused by people on Twitter saying, essentially, "Mr. Pope you need to read the Bible and stop being Catholic"
