ages ago, when i had an ongoing beef with a real unhinged neoconfederate, he went to the trouble of finding out where my family cemetery plot is. he drove there & desecrated their graves. he went to all that trouble but didn't bother to find out the bones in some of those old graves were on his side

The River Rouge, which sounds fancier than it is
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

There's a session on Locke and Tyranny this evening at 7 at the Eastern APA. Holly Brewer will speak on Locke’s experience with tyranny and his reaction to it, Dan Layman on how a American revolutionary used Locke's analysis of tyranny, and

Poor handwriting as a mark of status
As I make my way sweating & cursing through an archive of the worst 18thc handwriting I’ve ever had to deal with… it’s nice to find a cheeky epigram from one of my subject’s mates indicating that they had trouble too

If grok started spamming twitter with demands that Musk be arrested for producing child porn, that would be something interesting
Respectfully, even if they were generated without those requests, would they be meaningful in any sense? Wouldn‘t they just be an algorithm’s probabilistic shot at what order words would go in?

Over the last two weeks I helped research & write this amicus brief in the Hemani case before the Supreme Court. It considers whether habitual drug users have unlimited 2nd amendment rights to purchase, own, & use weapons, rights that should overturn a federal law, & that an an appeals court upheld
NEW amicus from @earlymodjustice.bsky.social et al. has a very important interlude discussing the difficulties of historical analysis for originalist litigation that, in turn, emphasizes the need for courts to look more to principles than to analogues...
