Hot off the internets — there's a brand new kid on the DASL block: Web Tiles!

It's still early days, some key features are missing, and there are some rough edges, but you can publish tiles to AT and play with the idea!

Tiles are composable web docs and apps that can safely be used in arbitrary contexts and assembled from multiple sources to carry out complex user interface tasks.

I just did the math (and looking on Alibaba).

The $2.7B spent on this singular LNG terminal could buy a million 5KW solar kits. Or 770,000 $10KW systems.

Absolutely madness!
A reminder for $2.7b you could put solar and batteries into every home in Aotearoa with enough money left over to put solar and batteries into every factory in South Auckland. Now that is called an investment.
Watts is an idiot of the first order and a symptom of anti intellectualism rife in National
But when both the Taxpayers Union AND Greens absolutely diss the Government on the LNG Corruption Show, you know National fucked up mega

Do you remember when people were saying "I think my phone is listening to me, i'm getting ads for stuff I spoke about" and people said "They arent listening to you, they're just this good at predicting your interests"?

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.

Big recommendation for Sig Wilder and Friends.

They're in the midst of their debut album launch and have decided to keep it off Spotify for very good reasons.

It's on Bandcamp though and definitely worth a listen if you like "Americana" from the bottom of the earth!

I haven't finished reading it yet but I did particularly enjoy this bit:

NZ media acting as US state media is perhaps more of an uncalculated risk than these editors, managers and execs consider.

A little while back I glanced over responses to @metservice.com (I'd call it a utility account with general and occasional emergency info) posting the same posts to 1.1K followers on Bluesky & a supposedly 144K followers on X (so 130 times).
Bluesky routinely had more engagement in the posts made.

This means they're able to run their own feature development and moderation policies, while still connecting to Bluesky through the shared Atmosphere network!

I wonder how the white creators of these fake indigenous accounts experience the full on racism that their fake accounts experience?

When they pretend to be a fake account and are harassed for no reason other than being indigenous, do they clock it?

i would like to highlight the phrase "neighborhood signal chats"
These neighborhood signal chats are absolutely crazy right now. You’ve got young activists in there with the most normie folks alive who all just absolutely fucking hate ICE so much. And they are all willing to put their bodies on the line for their communities.

Mostly no, because non-consensual intimate images are generated overwhelmingly by men, overwhelmingly targeting women, and New Zealand demonstrably employs misogyny as a tool in every sphere of life with zero qualms whatsoever, including our media, our politicians, and as evidenced here, our policy.
are any NZ media talking about grok and applying pressure, let alone any politicians??
