🔥 From @statuscoupnews.bsky.social : “This is nuts. What the fuck is going on? I’ve never protested in my life… they tell you it’s immigrants — it’s fucking anybody. They’re just trying to scare people. I’m not paid to be here. I have to work in the morning. This is wrong.”

Despite the desire of many organisations I’ve talked to, there is currently no “Creative Commons, Nice People Only” open licence.
This is how free and open access works. There is no way to have a free and open access project and then go “wait, no, not like that”.

As always, @sanjanah.bsky.social’s work is important, and shines light on the darkness.

It’s awful to see how much support there is for Peters’ worst rhetoric, but it’s important that as NZers we understand how deep this rot goes. And hold Peters responsible for fanning these flames.
Fascinating that NZ's FM publicly lectures RBNZ Governor about respecting statutory independence whilst simultaneously demonstrating precisely why central bankers worldwide felt compelled to defend institutional independence from political interference! The irony has clearly stayed in its own lane.

Fun note: this photo is the EB Games at West City mall. Directly upstairs is a Paper Plus that's closing in a couple of weeks. Which is next to an empty store, and just and the corner is the empty store that until recently was a Miniso.

It's a shitty time for retail.
Turns out all the need to do to revive your struggling retail business is sell everything at 50% off very urgently.

CoPilot is a particularly bad offender here because It’s pushed incredibly hard by Microsoft in the environment where people go to create documents. Companies really shouldn’t be rolling it out without a lot of thought, training and monitoring.

The Manage My Health breach wasn’t a tech failure, it was a policy failure.
