We turned into mum's road tonight that leads down to Takapuna beach and we're STUNNED by the giant orange moon. There was a collective gasp in the car. Never seen anything like it. No photo will do it justice.

Again: Ta-Nehisi Coates was not wrong - people who do not draw a line at genocide, will not draw a line at democracy. They are extremists by their nature.

Still can’t get over this. Coming from lived comms experience of orgs that have multiple layers of scrutiny and approval before anything gets near the public - a post on a deeply questionable social media platform, with no official press release from the Beehive is an Overton window shift in itself.
There's a lot going on here. An entirely absent PM and the entirety of our public response so far being a post on Twitter from the foreign minister - a post which doesn't even mention the US by name.
Just incredibly haphazard and lackadaisical.

“Well… we can’t just keep filing impeachment articles all the time.”

Yes you can! If the man is committing impeachable offenses on the regular, you’re acquiescing to a standard that raises the bar for impeachable offense to absurd levels.
How are voters meant to understand how serious things are if in lieu of shouting fire AND going into building with hoses, you're simply posting fire safety suggestions on social media?
Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.

One thing really driving me nuts about this whole thing is that I personally (and professionally) know that Aotearoa has many of the sharpest, best, and brightest hacking and security people *on the planet* right here

OK but how do you make sure of that, Health NZ?

My whole life, advocating war has been fed to me as “the adult position,” akin to drinking your coffee black or reading the business section of the newspaper. Let’s be very clear — war is the childish nonsense of impulsive destructive idiots playing baby-brained video games with real human lives.

I think it's important to pay attention to things like this - people aren't waiting for their elected reps to say something or do something, they're not asking permission, they're not coming up with excuses. They're seeing the news and going out to do something. They're not okay with this.
Happening now: several hundred people are pouring into Chicago's downtown Federal Plaza.

It's 25 degrees outside.

Organizers are leading the crowd in a chant of, "no boots on the ground, no bombs in the air!"

Two protesters hold a large banner reading, "no war for Venezuela oil."

PHOs may have chosen other patient portal systems to replace MMH by then..
A 48 hour deadline might well mean members of the public find out there data is in it via the breach rather than an individual notificsation from the company as theirs was going to be following confirmation of forensics and missions with PHOs and GPS
About 10 minutes ago, "Kazu" posted the following statement regarding ManageMyHealth.

Their stated reason for lowering the deadline is frustration with ManageMyHealth's response to their messages. They also cite the relatively fast public acknowledgement of the breach as another reason.

Trump keeps lying about how Venezuela “stole” from US oil companies. Here’s what really happened. Venezuelans know their own history & that’s why Trump’s oil gambit could become the focal point of a resistance. They won’t unite for Maduro, but they could come together to defend their patrimony.🧵
This is why Venezuelans nationalized their oil over generations:

“The right-wing strongman Juan Vicente Gómez, the military dictator who ruled Venezuela from 1908 until his death in 1935, granted concessions that left three foreign oil companies in control of 98% of the Venezuelan market.“
FACT CHECK American companies never owned oil or land in Venezuela, and officials didn’t kick them out. Venezuela, following Mexico, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, nationalized its most lucrative sector in 1976 and developed mutually beneficial partnerships with American and other firms
