Black History Month starts today. Crispus Attucks (c. 1723 – March 5, 1770) was an American whaler, sailor, and stevedore of African-American descent who is traditionally regarded as the first person killed in the Boston Massacre, and as a result the first American killed in the American Revolution.

It was the shortest month of the #Roman calendar from which the Julian & Gregorian February derived. The word is derived from februum, a tool used for ritual purification.

Because I'm talking about measles. It is also A VERY VERY VERY CONTAGIOUS VIRUS. If someone is in a room and has measles and then leaves that room and you enter that room within TWO HOURS (depending on humidity) you can get measles.

And people are contagious for four days before the rash appears.
::taps mic::

beyond being an absolutely miserable illness, measles can cause immune amnesia. It wipes out your immune systems memory of how to fight every infection, every vaccine you've ever had.

A measles outbreak is growing in a rural area of West Texas where vaccination rates are well below the recommended level.

this “chicago bail fund” and the entire network of newly registered bail funds are all scams. illinois made cash bail illegal in 2023 thanks to the incredibly hard work of many people, some of whom i know personally, so this is especially stupid

As did these "bail funds" for Boston, Seattle, and Portland.

Do you know if they are authentic?

Also voluntary blood drive blood is already used in profit schemes here--so much easier!
While Homeland Security embraces violence, I'm not saying it's exactly the same as these other groups. I don’t compare ICE to, say, Haiti’s murderous Tonton Macoute, which forced people to donate blood that they sold for profit. ICE doesn’t need blood money because Congress provides $$$. 10/10🧵
